Review summary

My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary by taking a cruise to the Bahamas. The cruise overall was good - no complaints about the accommodations or the food, both were excellent. The service provided by the crew was fantastic - super friendly and always greeting you with a smile. There was quite a bit of confusion about their entertainment - the itinerary that was published each day had many mistakes, including mislabeling different events, etc. As a result, my wife and I missed out on a few shows and events. In addition, the smoke in the casino was terrible. I realize that many states still allow smoking at different venues and casinos, but it was completely overwhelming. My wife ended up with a sinus infection as a result of the amount of smoke exposure. They need to work on creating a non-smoking section that is completely separate or simply not allow smoking in the casino.

We would definitely recommend carnival and we will definitely cruise with them again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Many options to choose from and there is food available 24/7, including room servive with several "free of charge" options.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Lots to do, but much of it was silly things like trivia and deck games.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
While there was many things to do on the ship, the entertainment pales in comparison to the Disney cruises we were on. They had lots of trivia and games, but would like to see more full out stage productions.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
We didn't have any children with us. Really not able to rate this fairly.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was very friendy and accommodating.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean and organized.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin had a lot of space and was very clean.

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

3 out of 5
Not much to see in the Baltimore port.

Port Canaveral, Florida

3 out of 5
We actually didn't get off the ship in Port Canaveral.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
We did the Atlantis beach day and discover Atlantis - we explored the aquariums, the casino and spent a little time on the private beach. Lots of walking so bring comfortable shoes.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

3 out of 5
We did the gardens tour - the bus driver was more than 30 minutes late picking us up. This tour was kind of rushed - getting through the gardens and going into town for shopping was quite a stretch.
