As we suspected, Carnival is geared to families with kids all ages and groups. We felt out of place as a quiet couple that likes to dress up for dinner, as the majority of the guests does not even bother putting on a jacket and tie for formal nights.

Food and Dining

Very limited bread selection at breakfast. No rolls, no "real" bread, not even baguette.... for any European a sad start of the day. I guess we are spoiled by Celebrity's marvelous cuisine.

Entertainment

Nothing I havn't seen on other cruises....

Children's Programs

It has got to be good, given the number of kids on board one week prior to Christmas.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Friendly but not overly motivated and certainly without any authority to enforce a dress code.

Ship Quality

The decor was hideous and didn't match the "fun" theme of Carnival at all. The artificial art of naked people from the middle ages looked grotesque. Also the "fleet" of mermaids on the celing of the Lido together with all other maritime decor is just too much for the eye and made the room look dark and full. Half the number would have still been plenty.

Cabin / Stateroom

Layout was excellent but the noise in the ceiling did not permit a good night sleep.

Pros: Embarkation Baltimore

Cons: The Ship

Recommends Carnival Pride? No.
