We loved this ship! Somewhat smaller than our previous cruise ship, we found it had all the amenities but smaller crowds to contend with. The "Serenity" area was adults only, a lovely area to relax in but with the waterslides immediately above it, a bit of a contradiction as far as quiet and away from children. The organization of the embarkation and disembarkation was terrific! We had very short lineups and waiting times both on and off the ship and at each port. Great job!

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We felt there was a bit of a deterioration in the menu since Carnival has made the change on all their ships. The usual, fabulous dishes remained on the menu however and the quality of the food was terrific.
We have only one complaint and it concerns the head waiter assigned to our table. "Bobby" was a very self-centered individual who apparently did not understand that a cruise is supposed to be all about the guests, not all about him. We did not appreciate the constant sexual innuendo's and gyration of hips and being past cruisers, we are aware that he took several short cuts (ie bringing fruit soups already poured instead of doing it at the table) and complained frequently about how hard he had to work and how many guests he was required to serve. We finally changed tables and enjoyed the fabulous service we knew to expect on a Carnival cruise. If you get a waiter you don't care for, don't wait to change tables! It makes all the difference in the world to your dining experience.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was first rate and there was always something to take in. We attended fewer than usual shows but enjoyed those we went to.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
The 6 & 9 year old children with us had a marvelous time. They spent many hours in Camp Carnival (their choice) and loved the many activities provided by the staff.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Other than our head waiter, we found all of the staff to be friendly and helpful. We were especially grateful for the Assistant Maitre'd who took our dining room concerns very seriously. He called our cabin to apologize for the behaviour of our head waiter and made sure we were happy with our new table and servers.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The cabins were lovely, clean and roomy. The ship overall was also kept very clean. With four sets of elevators, waiting was never an issue. Camp Carnival was terrific for the kids. This was very much a family cruise, more children than we have seen previously and having young grandchildren along with us, it was perfect for them.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We enjoyed an extended balcony suite and are amazed at the roominess of the cabins. There were several storage areas we did not need to use. We found it easy to get everywhere from our cabin and it was nice and quiet.

Pros: The Ship - The Staff - The Food

Cons: Chilly Departure City
