A chilly cruise

Sail Date: April 01, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Balcony

The ship appeared clean and well kept. Balcony cleaned twice while we were passengers! Floor layout for the 8th floor was confusing as it was not a straight alley. I got used to it by day 3. Toilets had an odor, recommend using bleach.

Pros: Freeport and Port Canaveral

Cons: Nassau, Bahamas

Recommends Carnival Pride? Yes!

Ship Quality
Kept clean, decor beautiful but the naked statues may not be appropriate for younger crusers. Ship size just perfect! Access to all areas of the ship were available except for the slide during cleaning which is understandable.
Food and Dining
Dining in all areas were EXCELLENT. Service was AWESOME. Too bad there is no more midnight chocolate buffet.
Cabin / Stateroom
Standard but met all of our needs accordingly.
Service and Staff
Room steward went above and beyond all day for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jaime, Jaime, Jaime! A gal that can make you laugh! Sunny and Cher routine cracked us up. Poor Adam in the 'working 9 to 5' get up. He was hilarious. Great to have the passengers participate on Legends night. There was talent. Unfortunately, I did not know they were recruiting. I would have participated!
Port Canaveral, Florida
Cocoa Beach was a great place to go with the complimentary shuttle to Ron Jon Shop. Common stores were available e.g. Publix, Walgreens; very convenient.
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island
Friendly people. Clean environment. NEVER HASSLED TO BUY.
Don't Miss: Our Lucaya beach and its strawmarket. Had a great drink in a coconut.
Nassau, Bahamas
Repeatedly hassled aggressively the whole time to either buy or 'donate'. Went to public beach off the Atlantis' Beach Tower and rented beach chairs 4 / $30. Another gentlemen rented one (1) chair for $15, gave $20 and never received his change. TWO LOCAL MEN ON THIS BEACH WERE PHYSICALLY FIGHTING (Riu Hotel beach area). THEY WERE EVEN THROWING BOULDERS AT EACH OTHER WHERE MY TWO CHILDREN, HUSBAND AND MYSELF WERE CAUGHT IN BETWEEN TRYING TO RUN OUT OF THERE!!!
Don't Miss: Senor Frog's, Get a seat next to the water with a view of the Pride.
