A great time for first time cruisers

Sail Date: October 17, 2010

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

This was our first cruise and we had a very nice time. We took our parents for their 50th and found that we were able to both enjoy one another's company but also have our own space when needed. The balcony room was a pleasant expeirence, and we would not cruise any other way. Cruise director was fun. Comedy club was enjoyable.

Pros: Very relaxing--never felt forced to do anything I didn't want to do

Cons: Would have been nice to have more varied entertainment

Recommends Carnival Pride? Yes!

Food and Dining
Four star dining--creativity of presentation was high, but if we did not want to go to the dining room most of the same food was available on the buffet, so we never felt like we were missing out.
Cabin / Stateroom
MUCH more room than we anticipated, especially in the bathroom. It was clean and comfortable, and we slept fantastically on the bed. Again, though, the highlight was the balcony.
Service and Staff
Never had a negative experience. It amazes me how they can work as hard as they do and still be smiling at the end of the day.
The shows were a bit corny, and it would have been nice to have a greater variety of musical styles in the lounges, but everyone we heard was very talented. The comedy club was a nice option to have available.
Ship Quality
Not the fanciest but certainly very comfortable and clean.
Nassau, Bahamas
We're not big shoppers, so that didn't impress us. It's an "okay" town. Wish we had gotten a cab and gone exploring--that would have been more fun.
Port Canaveral, Florida
Easy to get on and off--we did Universal Studios. The package excursion price was, of course, WAY overpriced, but it was still a good day.
