7 Night Mexican Riviera (Los Angeles Roundtrip)
Sail Date: October 01, 2006
Ship: Carnival Pride
Cabin Type: Suite
Traveled As: Couple
Reviewed: 10 years ago
Ship was clean and in constant care of employees who always smiled and said hello, Aside from the lines of the first fomal eveing ther was always plenty of space, now crowds and often great solitude throughout the ship. Ship is easy to navigate with most activities on decks 2 and 3, i.e. main dining room, shops, bars, main show room, casino and more. Deck 9 had three pools, Mermaid Grill, Spa and David's Supper Club on Deck 10. Really no other reason to enter any other deck other than your own stateroom

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was average to good, but the service was excellent. We did have a very enjoyable meal at David's, the alternative restaurant. It does take nearly two hours, but food, presentation, and service were superb.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We did not particpate in many of the shows, but what we did see where average at best.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Cordial, but not over the top. High marks to the wait staff.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship has many public areas and few are crowded if ever. The decor is reninsance with lots of nearly nude pictures, but nothing that should offend anyone. My biggest complaint are the public restroom doors. Two doors for entry that are so close together and swing into on another that if is difficult for one person to pass at one time. And the pool deck that is extremely slippery even with the smallest amount of water. Be very careful.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
We had suite 7298 with an extended balcony, with 3 lounge chairs, 4 regular and a table. It had a separate sitting area with TV, desk and mini bar, bathroom with double sinks, shower and jacuzzi tub, a vanity area with desk, and large bedroom with a TV, 3 floor to ceiling windows and walk in closet. We had more space then we knew what to do with. Our four suitcases easily fit under the bed.

Pros: Stateroom, waiter, wine steward

Cons: Public restooms, slippery pool deck, constant marketing
