Although the ship feels like it is stuck in the past, the staff make the trip enjoyable. When we left the port in Florida our plan was to go to Honduras and Cozumel. The very wise captain changed the route and port we would visit. Although we had rain, thunder and lighting and some rough seas, there were days the sun did peak out! No one got sick. Thank you for being so cautious and salvaging out trip.
Embarkation

We were in the line for only 5 or so minutes. We received a phone call that we were to go to the ship an hour later than out original time. The lady who helped us was sitting because of a hurt foot could not have been nicer!!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Although this cruise was a little less expensive, I still thought the food would be better. It was really hit or miss. Our waitstaff was fantastic!!! There needs to be more bartenders at the United States bar when there are events (trivia, etc) happening. People had to wait quite awhile for drinks.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The spa was terrific! I had a great massage. The ladies ran some great specials.
The original prices were very expensive. We enjoyed the trivia contests. We played BINGO once as it was $40+ to play and it only lasted less than 45 minutes.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The band that played near the United States bar & 80's trivia were fantastic!!! The comedian was good also.
Francis the magician should have his own show, not just walking around the restaurant during dinner. He was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Children's Programs
We didn't bring children with us this cruise.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The waiters were fabulous!!! In particular Iwayan, Sidney and Exo. We were with some friends who like to mix and match their dinner selections and all of their requests were met. These three guys were fantastic, especially Iwayan & Sidney, when we happened to bump into them at other locations, they always remembered our names and said hi with a smile. Carmen in customer services was extremely helpful. She not only figured out how to solve our internet issue, but actually set it up on my phone for me. Again, when she saw us around the ship, she remembered our names and said hello. She always had a smile and a cheerful demeanor. Additionally, although we didn't see much of Suhardi, he came in the morning after we left, he always brought us a bucket of ice and left my husband a towel animal. It was great!!
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
It was weird how you couldn't get front to back on some floors, but we figured it out. The ship shows signs of being old and somewhat outdated. The smoking at the casino was the worse. Many other cruise lines have designated smoking areas separate from the public. My husband and I didn't spend nearly the same amount of time in the casino as we usually do on other ships.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
It was good for the two of us. If we had brought our children, the cabin would have not been adequate. Why do the cabins have the "ship' light in the corner??? When we turned our light on, it blinked and never stayed consistent. The cabin across the hall had the ceiling fall down on the couple and they were fixing it the whole time we were on the ship. Although they tried to be quiet and discreet, it was a real distraction. What happens if it happens to us in the middle of the night?
Ship tip
If you want to sit out and relax, go to the stern of the ship. Always do dinner before 7:00, if you go later, you are going to wait.
We did a great excursion! We had a private jeep tour that I planned before leaving. Cozumel Cruise Excursions. It was the best! We had two couples and our tour guide in a jeep. We never had to wait for other people and we got to plan where we wanted to go and how long to spend in each location!! When I saw the line of jeeps pull up to the light house on another excursion, I was so happy I hadn't book that one. When I asked one of the people how it was going, she sighed and said they always have to wait for people to go to the bathroom, etc.
