Pleasantly Surprised

We have always been leery of taking a Carnival Cruise due to some of the negative press out there. Previously we have been on NCL and Royal Caribbean and were hard pressed to give Carnival a try. Well, we were very impressed! The service was excellent, the shows entertaining, and the food was good too! The ship was older, but nice. The ambiance on the ship was fun and relaxed. The shore excursions were fun and well-priced. The only negative was that they did not have any specialty restaurants. The main dining was still fun and enjoyable.

Pros: The service throughout the ship was excellent!

Cons: Some of the embarkation staff in Long Beach were very rude.

Recommends Carnival Paradise? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
Our room was very basic but comfortable.
Ship Quality
Slightly older ship but well kept and very clean!
Food and Dining
Other than the buffet, they weren't any specialty options for dinner. However, the main dining area was fun, had a wide selection of foods, and we made great friends with all at our table!
Service and Staff
The ships staff are amazing! This was by far some of the best service we have had on a cruise! It was amazing how many of the staff made it a point to learn our names and greet us every day!
The excursions were fun and well priced. There were also many to choose from! The entertainment on the ship was fun as well, but everything ended around midnight. The shows were pretty good too. The comedians weren't the funniest, but we still laughed.
Catalina Island, California
Catalina is overrated. Especially if you have been there before. The para-sailing is not only fun, but a great way to see the island. The Dolphin tour is fun too.... We didn't see any dolphins, but the staff on the tour made it fun and we had a great time!
Don't Miss: Dolphin tour
Ensenada, Mexico
The horseback riding is a must! The staff were friendly, the horses well cared for, and the views serene! It's also fun just to walk around the town.
Don't Miss: Horseback riding!
