My wife and I sailed on the May 27th Eastern Caribbean cruise and had a GREAT TIME! We found the staff, from room steward, to waiters, to the cruise director to be most courteous, efficient, and pleasant. The ship was clean and well kept. We found the dinning to be excellent. Most evenings at dinner I would order more than one appetizer since I could not decide, and was never denied. The Paris restaurant was also more than adequate, and the 24 hour pizza was just a bonus. Midnight buffet looked good, but we were always to stuffed to partake. We went to most of the shows and found them to be very good quality, in fact, we were somewhat empathetic for the entertainers, when at times it seemed the audience failed to respond to their efforts. The ports (and shore excursions) were enjoyable, although our dive instructor in St. Thomas had a bit of a bipolar personality, but did not hamper our fun. The non-smoking aspect was nice, we did not specifically search out this cruise because of that, but quickly appreciated the lack of smoking. Finally, I must admit, I was skeptical of a cruise vacation, but was convinced to give it a go by my wife, but came away enjoying it as much as she. One slight drawback we experienced was that there were always too many people trying to do the same thing(s) at the same time, making for lines and somewhat annoying 'down-time'... like a day at Disney. But, I expect this is a common fault of cruise ships in general. We learned to avoid much of this by trying to do certain things at non-typical times of the day... eat a littler earlier, or later than most, find certain parts of a deck on the ship at certain times that was not packed with people, etc. Overall, I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone! Perhaps, because this was our first cruise, one might say our expectations were less than others, but after reading many of the negative reviews of this ship, I tend to think a cruise experience can be mostly what you want to make it. If you want someone besides yourself to be completely responsible for making YOU have FUN on your vacation, please do us all a favor and STAY HOME! Because that is the only negative thing we experienced on our cruise, was the rudeness and unpleasantness of (only a few) of our fellow passengers, and of that, no cruise line has control.Jim & Deb from Iowa
