We are veteran cruisers on several lines so we know of what we speak. This is our second cruise with Carnival Cruises. This one on the Carnival Paradise was a real knock out! The ship had been recently tastefully upgraded and refurbished. All the art work, decorations, floor, wall and ceilings finishes were spectacular. Set up for Christmas theme we wished we could have stayed onboard for the whole holiday. First we have to comment on the entertainment. The shows and acts were tasteful, creative, energetic, exciting and colorful. The show folk really put themselves into their performances and left us breathless wanting more. In the lounges we really loved the group Music Boardwalk Band. It was hard to sit still making you want to get up and dance while they rocked and you could see everyone enjoyed their music. The food was second to none. If you went hungry on this ship it was your fault because there was something there or everybody. We loved the main dinning room cuisine; the specialty places like the Sushi Bar, Pizza and Deli were standouts. The stir-fry buffet and grill was a must to visit several times. It was evident the ship had been refurbished and outfitted with all the amenities anyone would ever want. Though the weather was cool the pool and spas still looked inviting. This cruise we spent more time on the ship than we normally would have done because we felt so comfortable there. The ports of call were great but the weather reduced their allure. But we did not fret because the ships crew, activities, food, entertainment, library, Internet Caf, casino, exercise facilities and many other options were more than enough to see us through the port visits onboard. The service was one of the best bargains on the cruise. The cabin stewards were helpful, upbeat, and fun. The waiters were top notch, the cruise director, the purser and other ships crew could not have been better. They earned their tips and gratuities. Security was reassuring and we thanked them for being vigilant as they very unobtrusively were looking out for our safety and best interest. We did not feel inconvenienced or restricted in anyway as they were very professional and most important present! The Lido Deck buffet layout was a great convenience to get in and out of quickly with a great selection of food. The cleaning staff outdid themselves to keep everything fresh, clean and odor free. Our cabin was comfortable, quiet, clean and orderly. The bed was just right and the room supplies were bountiful. We liked the free safe to store our valuables, the storage places for hanging cloths and drawers and shelves behind doors left the room seeming uncluttered. Taken as whole, the value, pricing, the food, entertainment, service, ships offerings in all departments made this one the best cruising experiences we have ever had. The Carnival Paradise is just that a fun carnival in paradise. Book it folks and you will not be disappointed on any levels. We just love it when people take pride in doing their job well, and they all did

Pros: The ship and crew all had their act together!

Cons: A little crowded at some food spots but was because they were popular
