For a short cruise it was pretty good.

Sail Date: August 27, 2007

Reviewed: 9 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

It is fine for a short trip 3 or 4 night only and that is what it was designed for. I would not take this ship for a longer trip as it does not offer enough on-board ammenities as far as more choices of restaurants, etc.

Pros: Comfortable cabins

Cons: Never knew who our cabin steward was.

Recommends Carnival Paradise? Yes!

Entertainment
For the type of cruise that it was, the entertainment was good and so were the activities.
Service and Staff
On the average, everyone was really great. However on one of the disembarkments for excusions the person giving out numbers did not have much patience for people with questions and was a little rude. It was very disorganized. Other than that one time, everyone else handled themselves very professional.
Ship Quality
Layout of ship was good. Some of the public areas were too full of smoke to be enjoyable. Very concerned about allowing smoking in cabins.
Food and Dining
The selection of food on the dinning room menu was fine. The Lido and Paris were ok. However some of the preparation of dishes in the dinning room were not always very good. Steaks were tuff. The best place for eggs in the morning was on the Lido or Paris when you watched them prepare eggs, etc. The dinning room was not as good. When you asked for an egg up it came hard. When you ask for eggs benedict the egg was hard as a rock and the hollandaze sauce was cooked hard on the top. Other than that, dinning times and ambiance were good.
Cabin / Stateroom
The comfort of the rooms was very good. Beds very comfortable. Cabin was very clean. Always fresh towels even if you didn't want or need them.
Catalina Island, California
We didn't take a tour because we had been there many times. Just walking around, spending time at the beach and going to Steve's Steakhouse for lunch was very relaxing.
Ensenada, Mexico
Went to the Blow Hole then to Habana Banana for lunch. The sea food was incredibly fresh and the views from the resturant were wonderful.
