Review SummaryFor a first time cruiser, I felt this cruise was great fun. There were lots of children, too many for some, but they weren't "in your face".
The American Piano Bar has a super piano player/singer. He is hilarious, sings great and can entertain a crowd that likes this motiff. He draws people in. Barry was his name; again, just great.
Dining room was nice; food was great at breakfast and dinner; however we chose the buffet a lot of the time, and it was good too. The Pizzaria had some great offerings of pizzas.
The crew was great. They were attentive and polite. They deserve extra tips, as they work strange hours, and long hours at that. They worked hard for us, so we tipped them very well.
I originally thought that a 4-day cruise would be benign, but it was actually great. Catalina and Ensenada (both I'd been to before) were great small ports that offered beautiful sites, tastes, and views.
I would recommend a short cruise to have fun and relax. It's all in one spot, so convenient, just great.
We had an interior room, which we learned to love. It was great having a dark room as we napped in the afternoon or slept in after a long night of dancing into the early hours. We thought we'd hate the interior room, but it turned out to be good.
We could've used some more plugs in our stateroom; we only had one that worked, that was a bit inconvenient for 2 women with blow dryers, curling irons, cell phones, camera batteries, all which needed to be plugged in. But we did it.

Pros: Food great! Crew friendly! Gambling fun! Dancing fun! American piano bar w/ Barry at piano - great!
Cons: Waiting for the elevator; stairs were quicker and healthier. Top running track a bit small.
