A Fantastic Fun happy Carnival Cruise

Sail Date: January 01, 2007

Reviewed: 9 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Balcony

The ship was still decorated in Christmas festive colorful red and green holiday decor for our New years Cruise. Upon entering, we felt as though we were in a fancy Las Vegas hotel. The decor of the interior is furnished in bright glitzy colors and rich warm tones of marble and deep cherry wood.

Pros: Beautiful ship! fun atmosphere, fellow happy other cruisers.

Cons: the disembarkment (getting off the ship) was awful long 3 hr.line in a cramped hallway.

Recommends Carnival Paradise? Yes!

Food and Dining
Very delicious.. Excellent.. Although waiters and servants seemed very very tired from going non stop. Our waiter said he only gets 4 hours of sleep a night.
Most of the folks who work on the ship complained of working non stop!!!
Service and Staff
All of the staff were wonderful and friendly.. but all seemed overworked and very tired!! Perhaps this is just a reality for cruise workers: but it would make a difference in the quality of service delivered if they were pampered and cared for better.
Ship Quality
Ship lay out was very accommodating for kids and parents. The steps were skid proof so kids or adults can't slip and break a kneck. This new years cruise was booked in excess with 500 extras. A good thing it was so large for the masses of cruises this most popular cruise week!!
Cabin / Stateroom
We had a Balcony room. There were 2 parents and 2 small hyperactive boys. This larger room with a bathtub and out door balcony made a huge difference in the quality of our relaxation on this cruise. "Breathing space is good for all!!"
Entertainment
Fabulous!!!! The shows were NY broadway caliber style with top talented performers to match.. Also, they had hilarious comedians and a fabulous magic show my young boys enjoyed immensely!!!!
Children's Programs
We've been on other cruises and this was by far the very best kids programs.
They had very caring loving kind patient ladies running the program who seemed to calm the children and make them feel secure. Activities were excellent!!! My kids had the best time being in this great kid friendly entertaining environment!!
Ensenada, Mexico
We really enjoyed walking around Ensenada-Go to Dorians Dept. Store (Ensenada's version of Nordi's) book your own tour off the boat and save bundles. We booked with a guy to see the Bufadora and tour ensenada. $15.00 vs the ships $49.00 package pr. person. We had a great time and saw everything with our own tour guide. He took 15 of us from the ship and was fabulous plus it was a nice savings..Remember, always book tours yourself and save!!!!!!!!
Don't Miss: We really enjoyed everything about Ensenada: the lovely friendly warm spirited people, Mexican culture and ate some delicious Mexican food downtown!!
Catalina Island, California
Absoulutely Beautiful!!!
