Review summary

Nice cruise on a ship that offers more than one would expect with the size.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Unless there is a major issue, Long Beach is always a quick embarkation.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The second cruise and ship in which I felt Guys quality has really gone down. The rest of the food was much the same as previous cruises. Anytime dining went well after the first day with so many eating later.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Many things to do, even on such a small ship. Fun Squad did their best to keep everyone entertained and busy.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Saw 2 different shows on the 6 day and both were enjoyable. Perhaps not as polished as other lines or shows but they showcased several powerful singers and dancers. The band Neon Funk was fantastic but stayed mostly on 70s and 80s with a few newer songs sprinkled in. Guitar soloist, Brie Zee was great though lacked enthusiasm and volume. Kathryn an Marcus duet was also fantastic, though had a limited set list. If you see them on a ship, you will enjoy them but you may have to request for them to expand their set.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Other than a lack of bar staff circling with pre-made drinks, didn't really feel understaffed. Never got ship count but estimate at 60% and service was always top notch.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Would give a 5 for design and 3 for upkeep. She is an older ship and may look dated, but the ship has a great layout and packs a lot into a small ship. Plenty of places to sit and talk, read or listen to the entertainment.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Absolutely great location. Had to keep curtains closed during the morning and evenings as the air conditioning did not work. The other complaint is with Carnival's TV/Cable. Couldn't adjust volume much and not the same levels across channels. Even though individual channels volume control went from 0 to 60 no real noticeable change in actual volumes.

Ship tip

If you do anytime dining, either tip nightly or have fun trying to track down your servers.

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
So much to do. Water taxis are a way if life but don't be afraid to explore into town.
