This was our first cruise and just about everything went very well. We selected it because it offered two days in Cabo San Lucas where we could visit my sister who lives and works nearby as a local artist. This is not the usual reason people use to take a cruise. It turned out to be a great change of venue from our routine and a nice escape from the normal. We chose the quiet informal buffet-style eating topside to the lower decks formality. It was very nice to have the option. The food on both decks was superb and presented many choices. The noise of the lower deck rah rah musical moments was annoying, we don't enjoy loud noises with our eating. Most others probably do enjoy it so the cruise line has good reason to keep the patrons "jazzed". I suspect some of the people were already hyped for other reasons aboard ship. We had no interest in the shows or bars but, there was lots of time to walk the decks and read. If you are a people-watcher, the entertainment is endless. If you like to meet people, the opportunities are virtually unlimited. It was astounding how well organized and helpful the Carnival people are. They lead one to believe the staffing is both selective and educated in the importance of customer service. It was an impressive operation, well done Carnival! Thank you for a great trip experience.

Cabin / Stateroom
The interior appointments were a reminder of Las Vegas-style glitz. Select a stateroom lower and near the center of the ship as fore and aft tend to be a more lively ride for those motion-sensitive people. The shudder of the screws is more pronounced on all ships aft and low.
