First time cruisers depart from Tampa

Sail Date: March 25, 2007

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

We took our first cruise aboard the Carnival Miracle, departing from Tampa and stoppng in Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize City, and Costa Maya. We had a fabulous time, and would highly recommend the Carnival Miracle to anyone of any age, and whether traveling with just spouse, or friends, kids, teens, grandparents, etc. We were most pleased with our Cruise Directory Tory (fabulous!), the prompt service of the staff, cleanliness of the ship, great food selections, variety of activities and facilities for all ages, and our favorite port activity was scuba diving in Cozumel, followed by cave tubing in Belize City.

Pros: Cruise Director Tory and excellent Carnival Miracle service

Cons: Tender at ports

Recommends Carnival Miracle? Yes!

Belize City, Belize
We enjoyed cave tubing although this tender was the longest and most disorganzed stop. The people here are extremely friendly and love to make tourists feel welcome.
Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico
This is the only stop where we did not schedule an activity. We enjoyed going into "town" via cab, shopping, and then sitting by the water after we bought a bucket of beers for $10. Friendly people, beautiful waters. Do not waste your money on renting a golf cart to drive into town. It is faster and cheaper to catch a taxi.
Don't Miss: Sitting by the beautiful waters.
Cozumel, Mexico
Scuba diving at Blue Angel Dive Shop and shopping in Cozumel (outside the Port area)-- our favorite stop and activities, hands down!
Don't Miss: Scuba diving at Blue Angel dive shop and shopping for black coral jewelry
George Town, Grand Cayman
We enjoyed Tortuga Rum Factory and even Turtle Farm. The stop at "Hell" is a waste of your time and money. Of all our stops, this was our least favorite. It is beautiful, but very touristy and more expensive than other stops.
Don't Miss: Next time, I would like to try Sting Ray City or more shopping.
