Eastern Carib. cruise, May 2008 on Carnival Miracle. Have cruised previously and this was a huge let down. Food was absolutely horrible. Buffet at dinner was almost non-existent. Five narrow pans containing a meat, soup(cold/warm), potato, vegetable, pasta. Everyone complained. And what food was available, was very very spicy. Need to open several food stations in the evening, not just the one. You could obtain a sandwich or pizza, but who wants to eat just sandwiches and pizza!!
Had a suite with a jacuzzi tub. Tub did not work and was told maintenance could not fix it!
Shows were cancelled due to rough weather (which I understand, but you would think they would have some sort of backup entertainment, movies, etc.). Also, a good part of the staff wasn't pleasant (guess they were sick of hearing passenger complaints). Would never cruise again on the Carnival Miracle and would think long and hard before cruising with Carnival again.

Pros: End of cruise

Cons: Food was horrible

Recommends Carnival Miracle? No.

Food and Dining
Food at buffet was horrible. Very limited, very spicy. Not good.
Cabin / Stateroom
Jacuzzi tub did not work and stewart advised that it could not be fixed. Well that being the case, don't advertise it as an amenity for the room that was chosen!
Shows were cancelled due to bad weather, which is certainly understandable. Not worth someone getting hurt. But they should have had some sort of backup provision, ie. movies, music, etc.
Ship Quality
Ship was clean, public areas gaudy but clean.
Service and Staff
Have seen better, but overall most staff was cordial. Cruise directors staff didn't seem very friendly or helpful.
