8 Night Exotic Eastern Caribbean (New York Roundtrip) Sail Date: August 13, 2008 Ship: Carnival Miracle Cabin Type: Balcony Traveled As: Family (older children) Reviewed: 9 years ago
This was out first cruise ever and we had a fabulous time on board this huge ship. We were inpressed by the cleanliness of everything, the friendliness of all the crew and the experience was just wonderful and fun. The employess aboard this ship , as with most cruise ships, consist of people from all over the world who were friendly and spoke good English as well. The dining room crew were helpful and entertaining as well. The stewards were friendly and kept the rooms clean and fresh. We found nothing to complain about as we were well fed, had a clean room and did nothing but enjoy the "ride". I suggest getting a room with a balconey, especially if you have 3 or more people in your room. the balconey adds to the rooms size and there is something to be said about waking up in the morning and viewing the sea or in the evening watching a full moon shine upon the water.
Food and Dining

Our dining experience was pleasant and good all the time. The choices were abundant and if you didn't find something you liked the waiter can easily help you out or you can go to the buffet tables. Between the waiter, cocktail waiter and bus boy we were always greeted with a smile and a cheerful and sincere hello. We eventually were greeted by our names as we became friendly with the wait staff who always made us feel special each night.

Shows were very good with lots of singing and dancing by hadrworking young people, who always put on a fantastic show. Comedians were funny and magic shows entertaining. I will say that the Cruise director and his staff tried too hard to engage people and sometime let their comfort levels down and well it sort of wasl not entertaining as they always made you feel that you had to particiapte. They were also too loud and sometimes a bit obnoxious with their attempts to get people involved in silly games and humor was not to funny.
Service and Staff

Everyone was friendly including the housekeeping and engineering staff. Always a smile and a pleasant greeting when approached. Each night the Dining room captain would ask how your meal was and the room stewards were always asking if you needed anything.

Ship was clean, didn't have any odors. The decor was interesting and at time magnificent, too. The ships design was easy to navigate with plenty of seating, places to hide (if necessary), an internet library, several bars and places for those of us with sweet tooths.

Rooms were adequate for a maximum of 4 people. Sharing the room with 2 teenagers can be tight but having a bacloney we felt comfortable. You do not need to bring hairdryers, shavers or shampoos, and soaps as the room is well equipped with anything you need.
beautiful port with friendly people. We booked a snorkeling adventure which was suppose to be aboard a catamaran. According to the advertisement we were suppose to be on a catamaran and due to "false advertisement" we were taken to the coves in a medium sized motor boat with two guides. The guides were somewhat entertaining and brought us to beautiful coves however when we pulled into one cove and saw a catamaran we felt slighted. The snorkeling was great fun though.
Don't Miss: Snorkeling is beautifl here
Unfortunatlely, for the time frame you are on this island, we were here for 6 hours, there is little time to do anything but stay at port. We pulled up to the infamous Margaritaville for this stay and grabbed some beach chairs and jumped into the gorgeous water. Bring along some blow up tubes and rafts ,that you can throw away afterwarsds, for floating in the water. In Margaritaville there is a pool, the pool water was very warm in August and not refreshing, however very pretty. A bar in the pool and lots of party music and plenty of margaritas to drink until it is time to sail away.
Fun if you like to shop. The forts were interesting for the kids. However spending 9 hours at this port was way to long especially when we didn't arrive until 3pm and there was linited time to see anything as most sightseeing activities would be clsoing around 5pm. So you are more or less forced to shop.
Don't Miss: see the forts for the kids.
