8 Night Exotic Western Caribbean (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip)
Sail Date: November 15, 2007
Cabin Type: Suite
Traveled As: Family (young children)

Pleasantly surprised by how nice the ship was compaired to the older Carnival boats. In addition, the staff were clearly focused on customer service and the kids had a wonderful time in the kids club. Gym layout was a little odd and hard to use and the food at the buffet was pretty basic but reasonable.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
As is happening in recent years, the quality of the food on these cruises is declining. However for those interested in quantity, that doesn't seem to be a problem.

Entertainment

Shows were average, not quite comparable to the ones on RCI.

Children's Programs

Kids (7 &5) liked the towel folding demo and bought into all the "funship Freddy" activities. They wanted the boat to turn around and go back out for another 8 days. Must have gone on the slide 40-50 times each. Had trouble getting them to spend time with us.

Service and Staff

Apparently customer service is alive and well on the Carnival Miracle.

We had a suite with two kids so, more room than normal. Loved the larger bathroom.

Enjoyed the day at the reefs, wish we had more time to go to the city to shop, heard the prices were good.

Fabulous stop, any tour will be great, we did the train/boat/bus tour. Locals are friendly and helpful. Buy coffe and wood products.
Don't Miss: Bananna plantation. Kids were very interested.

Colon is not some place you can safely walk arround. (think 3rd world and worse than any slum you would see in the US) Many of the tours were cancelled or had problems, people were clamoring for refunds.
Don't Miss: Skip and stay on the boat, unless you just have to see the canal, then get a taxi at the terminal.

Pros: Very nice ship for Carnival

Cons: sameness of food in Buffet & poor layout in Gym

Recommends Carnival Miracle? Yes!
