Avoiding Maria! by Majorpam2010

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Our Carnival cruise on the Magic was selected for its Eastern Caribbean itinerary. However, due to the impending arrival of hurricaine Maria, our captain deemed it necessary, after our port of call at the Dominican Republic (also unplanned, but a very pleasant surprise), to veer to the West and take us safely away from the hurricaine's path. Our ports of call were excellent, as were all of our excursions, from zip-lining to horseback riding, and snorkeling! The wonderful pool deck surprise of every lounge chair filled with a towel animal or person was so much fun and left us with great photos and memories. We were so grateful to the ship's Captain for keeping us safe from harm, and to all who handled the transition from behind the scenes. We had beautiful weather with smooth seas for the entire trip! Thank you to Carnival's Captain and all of the staff for showing us a wonderful time, even in the face of adversity!! We will be back!

Cruising with Carnival Fun Ship Magic by kimbraz88

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Carnival did a great job with getting us on the ship and off the ship.  The quickest I have ever had!!! The cruise director was great and lots of fun activities once on board the ship.   I loved the Chef's Table experience.  It was amazing.  The chef took 4 days to prepare a custom dining experience. Prime Steak house was great. Loved the surf and turf!!! The excursions were great.  We Ziplineed at Country side Zip line in Dominican Republic.  Enjoyed Megan's Bay at St Thomas and the Rainforest in Puerto Rico. Sal the bus driver was very entertaining.  The All inclusive family beach resort was relaxing in Grand Turk.  Really enjoyed the cruise!!!

Great fun by Jolinem

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great time of the Carnival Magic.  The only disappointment we had were the number of kids abroad.  Now, we're not against kids, but there were a LOT of them on this particular cruise... And they certainly do a lot of running around (without parents too many times), here, there, and everywhere!  We tried to schedule the cruise after the school vacations, but guess we didn't do very well on that front.  Regardless, the Magic is a beautiful ship, great accommodations, friendly people,  great service, and

a great value.

Carnival lived up to our expectations!

Don’t Rock the Boat by SKHAdventurer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Second time we’ve done this particular cruise, so we obviously thought it was good! Unfortunately we couldn’t dock at Grand Turk. Earthquakes happening this week so we think that plus wind, made the seas too choppy to dock. Never got sick from the rougher than usual seas, but it was just a bummer we missed the beautiful port. First time out of 11 cruises we’ve ever missed a port. Still a fantastic family vacation! From a family that enjoys spending time with each other.

Enjoyment on the Caribbean by tdaniel72

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

In a few words; this cruise overall was worth the money minus they don't give any compensation if you do get sick off any of the dishes served on the ship. But do to the staff I had personal contact with; I would try Carnival Cruiseline again.

Amazing Cruise!!! by MrsRJ811

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Magic

Disembarked from the Magic on 8/25/19 and my ONLY complaint is that it came to an end. What a fantastic cruise! From start to finish, we had a blast. We met soooo many fun people. The staff were very friendly and always said hello. We had a Suite and 2 balcony rooms on deck 7. Embarkation was flawless. Our rooms were 7215, 7257 and 7454 and all were freezing cold. I had to turn the air down in my Suite. Our cabin steward for the first two rooms was Nicola. If you're lucky enough to have her, you'll get the best service. The ship was immaculate. Workers cleaned day and night. Simon London the CD is superb. We ate and drank alot 😁. Seaday Brunch was my favorite. Dinner service was a little slow, but we were in no hurry. We cruised the Southern Caribbean and the weather was picture perfect. It was nice to see so many people dressed up on both elegant nights. Pre cruise we stayed at the Hilton at Fort Lauderdale Marina. Great location and we had a great view of the ship from our balcony.

We had a great time and enjoyed most of the ports. We bought several souvenirs for family and friends. Remember this tip: they all expect you haggle on pricing. Do not pay full price!

Carnival Cruise by grandmaana

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Everything was wonderful, the dining and the children activities. I did not attend the shows so I can not comment. The excursions were excellent except for not making sure that the passengers know when one is cancelled. Just leaving a paper on the mailbox is not enough and i did not find out until I went to the port. More communication please.

LOVED THE MAGIC by kanton230451

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We absolutely LOVED our cruise on the Carnival Magic. The ship was very clean and fairly easy to navigate. Food was great and everyone was friendly. My only complaint might be with the spa/salon. I was approached by a lady from the spa on the Lido Deck and asked to make an appointment so I made a hair appointment. I was quoted a price by her. My appointment was just for a blow dry and curl/ style - very simple. Well first the stylist messed up my keratin extensions even though he acted like he knew all about them and second I was charged $30 more than quoted. Other than that an excellent trip.

Our 2nd cruise with Carnival by Stronzo1950

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Carnival Magic was a fabulous ship with the entire crew being so very friendly. Our Roatan, Honduras port visit was very beautiful. My wife and I zip lined for the very first time. She is 56 and I am 64 and it was most exhiliarating! When we anchored at Belize, we took Mayan Air over to San Pedro on Ambergris Caye, rented a golf cart and went straight to Palapa's Bar and Grill. We snorkeled while we were there and saw beautiful tropical fish, 2 dolphin, and a ray. While there we at Grouper that was delicious and had the best conch ceiveiche I've ever had. The Belzean people are extremely friendly and the food served was very fresh. We had been to Cozumel before so we took a taxi over to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville and swam and snorkled to seeing beautifully colored tropical fish. The entire staff was extreemly hospitalable and very friendly. While in Cozumel we took Vince's, Carnival staff, recommendation and my wife got a Tanzanite ring and matching earlings for an unbelievable low price. I verified the cost when we returned to the states and it is truly a remarkable savings. She is very happy with her purchase. While onboard we booked another 7 day cruise for this coming Septemeber 2014 to go to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, & Cozumel along with another couple. Once again we are counting the days until we return to Carnival Magic.

Carnival Magic had the "WOW" factor. by Sonya27

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Magic / Destination: Caribbean

The Carnival Magic did hit us with the "WOW" factor as soon as we boarded her. Plenty of pools, hot tubs and even a place for adults only. Two large and fast slides that were fun to do. The Skyline walk (Never Again! I just prayed that I would not fall and crush the children below.) is not for the faint of heart. The rooms were clean and ready with our luggage in them as soon as we were on board. Thanks to Faster To The Fun package. We lived on deck five for the following : Red Frog Pub (coconut shrimp), casino, hot tubs, shopping and the coffee. The Steak House was great along with more karaoke then we could stand. The Magic was a big ship but we missed the of the smaller ships like the Triumph. Our cabin steward knew our faces and our dinner times but not our names. My sister never did meet her cabin steward for about 3 days into the cruise. I understand why, because there are just too many cabins to clean and people to remember. Over all we had a great time on the Magic and will board her again in the future.

Carnival Magic by njdhockeychick

Ship: Carnival Magic

This was the 3rd sailing after the COVID break. The staff were very friendly and happy to be back. The ship was at about 50% occupancy so it was nice and not too crowded.
