Highly disappointed by this ship. Wonderful ports but much of the usual service was seriously lacking. Slow, inefficient service in main dining. Confusing layout. Stupid App ‘Check-in’ for dining. No served lunch! No prices on many items in ships store. Also very expensive-$30.00 for a 3’ iPhone charging cord. No theater productions.

Specialty Restaurant- Cucina del Capitano: Great food, wonderful waitstaff.
Main Dining: Horrible! Slooow service, mostly bland food. Must Check-in via App which only opens when restaurant opens & then you have to wait for your table assignment. You never know which deck your table will be on till it’s assigned. Insufficient seating areas available while waiting. Lack of organization. Basics not readily available at waitstaff stations. Stingy Butter pats very small, cold/hard. No variety of breads/rolls & small portions. Food mostly bland, portions small.
Buffet: a joke, overcrowded, unorganized. Continental Breakfast area has breads but no butter or spreads and no napkins or knives which are only available at the still closed regular breakfast buffet from 6:00-6:30am. Must fight through crowded line to get them once regular buffet opens.
Guys Burgers & Guys BBQ: were OK. Meats good except bacon which was flavorless. Sides were blah!
BlueIguana: was good.
No served lunch in dining rooms. Had to stand/wait in line at one of the other food venues for mid day meal. Will avoid Carnival in future.

Pools OK. Long lines for slides & ropes course. Entertainment totally awful. Mostly games hosted by staff. No Theater productions. Excellent Violin Trio played in certain location.

Room steward, housekeeping staff excellent. Waitstaff had too many tables & didn’t have necessary items readily available. Service often slow.

Housekeeping excellent. Ship layout terrible. Can’t get from bow to stern on deck 3 w/out going up or down at least one deck. Can’t go bow to stern on decks 4 or 5 w/out going through the casino, one of which is smoking.
Cabin / Stateroom

Wierd layout, wasted, unusable space, no sliding glass door to balcony, very narrow space from foot of bed to outer wall, no loveseat.
Leaving ship was pretty good but getting to ships transportation too distant. Purchase transportation by he cruiseline from ship to airport was horrible. Waited well over an hour on bus to leave terminal. Driver dropped us off at ‘Arrivals’ near Baggage Claim instead of at ‘Departures’. No wheelchair assistance available where dropped off.
The Magic is a great ship and easy to navigate. Cruised on her three times. Guess you didn’t do any research on the ship or how Carnival uses the hub app. It is super easy.
Buffet is usually crowded especially on port days…. People want to eat quickly and get off the ship. Cabins are limited in space on all ships unless you’re in some form of suite.
Sounds like cruising is not for you. A stay at the Ritz Carlton with personal butler seems more like your style of vacation. I will be on her in 72 days and can't wait!
