We enjoyed the leg of the cruise more because we were able to do more activities after dinner. We will be back on the Magic in October.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We were already on the ship, so no issues. The sail away was cold and wet. We wore our Winter jackets and sail away party was held in the Atrium instead of the Lido.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We went back to YTD! It was wonderful. We often completed our meal (including coffee and dessert in about an hour). The buffet has two sections with different food. Many people didn’t check both. Had my one allotted Guys burger. The Deli was my “to go” lunch. Note this location is the omelet station for breakfast.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
More mini golf and trivia. Never figured out the fourth hole in the mini golf.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The main shows too loud to enjoy. The comedians were mixed. Seemed I’ll prepared at the early shows. Watched the “Cat in the Hat” characters pose for photos in the atrium. They came up to the grownups sitting at bar for snap shots. Lots of fun.
Children's Programs
4 out of 5
Only 300 children on this sailing. The security was still present.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The junior hostesses for YTD were fantastic. We asked to keep the same table and wait staff for the whole time, and we did. Ahmet (head waiter) was phenomenal. He was training others, we had several different assistants. One night there was a mixup on my DH meal. He noticed and personally went to the kitchen to fix it. He explained “quietly” to the fellow how to do it correctly.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was kept clean in spite of some passenger’s disregard for others. We appreciated the fact we had 8 days prior to learn the ship. Like having a non smoking casino. Unfortunately the cashier cage is in the main casino.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Plenty of storage. The TV still didn’t work properly. The couch was in bad shape. Okay for naps but not sure if it could be used as an additional bed.
As mentioned in my review on the first leg of the B2B, we used the ports for a walking exercise. We always enjoy this port and this trip was no different. Just walked the port area. This is a fun place to watch for “pier runners”! Yes, we had a few but we didn’t leave anyone.
This is a tender port. There were 4 ships (our size or larger). We chose not to get off the ship because there would be so many people. It was a good choice because people came back frustrated due to long wait times (1-2 hours) in the hot sun. We were very late leaving because people were still in line to return to the ship.
We left our luggage out the night before. With luggage tag #1 we were off quickly. Found our suitcases with no problem. Walked out to the buses and were at t airport by 9:30. Of course our flight wasn’t until 3:30. I know you can’t count on that quick trip, but would have liked an earlier flight.
