Had a great time on Carnival Magic! It wasn’t the “best” cruise we have been on but still had a great time!!

There wasn’t enough room under the overhang so people were having to stand in the grass while it was raining. There were fire ants so part of the sidewalk was closed. Bags were getting wet in the rain but luckily the line moved fairly quickly! I can’t complain about how the system was! I can’t control the weather :)

Food overall wasn’t bad! We never ate at the buffet because we didn’t care for the food. Guys burgers, the taco place and pizza were our go too places for lunch and dinner we ate at the restaurant. We did eat at the Italian place ($15 extra/person) which was really good but the waiter wasn’t very good. And the steakhouse ($38/person-they increased the price by $3 AFTER we booked it :-/) and the food and service was amazing!! The table art thing for dessert is a must! We didn’t eat at the pub. Seafood shack, or bbq.

Service and food were amazing! Price is $38/person so I hoped it to be amazing! Kind of upset to know the price went up $3/person AFTER I made reservations. They should have honored my $35... you need to get the art table thing for dessert! So fun to watch them draw with food on your table!

Onboard Activities

There were 2 pools on the ship and were small. We never went in them. I think there are more whirlpools but again never went in them. We tried the ropes course but it was closed due to wind. Others looked like they were enjoying themselves on other days :) they also have putt putt. Our biggest activity was finding that ducks! We loved the hunt :)

I did 2 massages and was not able to use the facilities there like sauna or pool! I would think if you pay the money you should be able to enjoy it! Massages were great and the recommendations were nice. A little pushy but can’t complain! I didn’t like how you change in your massage room. I would have liked to have undressed and put my clothes in a locker or something. Sometimes the front deck seemed a little unorganized like asking me if I signed up for a different massage???

Had 2 massages which were great! One room had floor to ceiling windows! Beautiful! They other was a couples massage room but it was just me. No windows

Ship Quality

Ship was clean! No weird odors that some travelers mentioned! I was actually very impressed. The boat is a little dated. Had some rust in places but I couldn’t complain! The layout is weird at times. You can’t get from one end of the ship to another on certain floors but you figure that out quickly. One of our biggest turn offs was deck 11 had these nice patted chairs and ottomans that were only on that deck however, it was the “smoking floor”. We wanted to use the furniture but couldn’t handle the smell :( the Magic doesn’t have that many windows either we noticed...
Cabin / Stateroom

Our room was really nice. No thrills or anything but enough size for the 2 of us! The bathroom is a little snug but still worked! Shower is a curtain just makes sure the whole curtain in the the shower or you have a wet bathroom ;). Needs some updating as our lights would take a good 15-20 sec to fully connect on! Our tv didn’t work sometimes but it was nice to even have one in our room! Super quiet except for our neighbors. We were a middle room to people that knew each other on the right and left of us. Oh and the slamming of the doors! Bring earplugs!
Ship tip
Keep an open mind! You’re paying for the experience don’t ruin your vacation on the “little things”.
We took a water taxi ($7/person round trip) to the other side of the water and paid $20 for 2 chairs and umbrella at the beach! To me worth it! Didn’t walk around too much. Back allies are a little sketch... food is expensive but they sell you on FREE WIFI!
Loved!! We found an excursion online called Annie’s Caribbean Tour! Highly recommend! It’s like $60/person for a 5+hour tour of the WHOLE island! Beautiful and the people were so nice! We had Annie the owner be the one to drive us around :) it’s hot be prepared but so worth the $$
Loved this stop! It had an awesome vibe. Didn’t do an excursion just walked. One of the first people off the ship and made it to the umbrella street! We got lucky because they ended up closing it down to fix the umbrellas! No one was able to get on the street to take pictures :) the restaurant that claims they made the first pina colada is there! PS soooo good!!! The food was okay and the restaurant doesn’t open for food until 11 but you can get drinks early! There is a fort in the back of San Juan and has a walking trail around it! Highly recommend!
We love this island! We have been to Turks before. This time we did the catamaran ship with snorkeling and private beach! Super fun and the rum punch always puts me on my butt but it is sooo good!! The service on the boat is hit or miss.. you have some that are willing to help and others are just there because they have too. Keep in mind this boat holds like 60 people!! Smirking was one of the best sites I’ve been too and the price beach was a nice relaxing time!
So easy! We did express checkout where you carry your luggage with you. They called us by floors and we walked off the boat. Customs took about 40 min to go thru the line but super easy!!
