The cruise itself was boring. The islands and shore excursion were a blast..
The boat has the same old tired shopping and entertainment.
The director was awful..
the suite smelled like mold and had damage.
The food was the same old stuff and not open enough.
The spa, pools, and hot tub close way to early!
I do not like to be lectured about how I need to start drinking more or earlier in the day.. I will start drinking when and if I want too..
The youth clubs were the most terrible we have ever seen. No One of any age liked going.
The elevators are too full and always busy.
The suite was not ready when we got on board, Why Not?
Embarkation

The boarding process was fast and easy! However they did not have my Suite ready like it was supposed to be... we had to wait like everyone else to gain access to our suite..

Food and Dining

The food was prepared well, but it was the same old menus! Nothing new or anything I just had to have! I actually lost weight on our cruise. Who does that!
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Everything was boring, full, had long lines, crowded. Bad hours. I would love to see the spa/ hot tubs/pools all open 24 hours a day... if the rule is 30 minutes on saving chair, keep to it! Move their stuff and let me sit and enjoy life too....
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Boring! Not much fun to be had. We did not like the shows or most of the performers. Most employees did not like their jobs and told us regularly that it was their last week of their contracts or how terrible their job was... I don’t care.. you took the job.. I paid and tipped well, it’s not my fault..t
Children's Programs
1 out of 5
The worst program my son has ever been in.. He hated the leader, and the activities. I talked to kids of all ages and not one wanted to go to their clubs. Too boring and too many rules... The Carnival Magic has made my son never want to go on another cruise... I am not impressed! Hire some new younger staff that can relate to the children and teens...
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
The porter and dining staff were amazing, they always knew our names and were so very happy to help us.. the customer service was annoying. The line was always really long and they were never able to help us when we finally got to the front of the line... the PIxel dept had terrible customer service too. And they did not properly inform us of packages, options, and free stuff.. I was told NO way too many times. I spent 900.00 on Photos and they treated me like I was wrong and annoying them.. also, they need to speak better English to convey the right message. The woman at the PIxel Register actually cringed when I was next and so No, please come back later, before I even said a word! She referred me to her manager many times and told me I would have to come back later to talk to her.
Ship Quality

It is starting to get outdated. The bathroom was also out of TP regularly.
Cabin / Stateroom

My suite smelled like mold sooooooo Bad! And the closet smelled like old dirty shoes.. it actually maid my clothing smell.. The size was good. The fridge was barely cold. And the porter always moved my trash can.. if I wanted 2 in the bathroom/dressing area I would have left it there.. I want a trash can near the bed and would love another near the desk..
4 trash cans would be amazing.. there was holes in the art on the wall and 1 lamp was broken.. the hairdryer is way to short.. the filters are way to close to the blowing end and caused the hairdryer to constantly eat my hair and ripped in out of my head....
The porter did a good job of always cleaning our suite..
Ship tip
Don’t sail on the Magic, pick a newer ship with more activities and better kids clubs!
Loved this port... Glad they gave us extra time here because we did not stop in Grand Turk.. we were able to go to the Bacardi Factory tour and still had time to take a taxi and tour the sites before they all closed.. El Morro was great too.. We brought an 8 foot kite and had a blast flying it over the fort..
Loved this stop.. We went to Coral World and swam with a Sea lion named Omar.. it was so much fun.. iguanas are everywhere.. they took a ton of pictures and we were able to buy them for fairly cheap. I think it was 125 for 3 people. we ate burgers there too. Actually rally good burgers..
Loved this place. We went to porta Platta, saw their museum, McCorix rum factory, a casa for lunch, had great samples of coffee and chocolate, shopping, the catholic cathedral, a coconut vender, and fort San Felipe. Too many peddlers though.. and they never would take a no.... the bus had air conditioning and we were able to leave our bags and purchased items on the bus.. the driver and the guide were amazing.
Thank you! Thank you! I was able to get off the boat early and fast. The bag porter had to go in the back and point our bags out, he made them put the luggage out faster and he knew the customs people and wished us right through with no delay or issues..
We were just on Magic the beginning of December and could not disagree more on all of this.....especially the cruise director. The cruise director MarQ is awesome. We have had him twice and we LOVE him. We are booked to go on Magic again this December and praying we get MarQ back again
I am unsure if this is true or not. There are many things here that seem embellished. I think carnival is not for you. You had a bad experience. I would like to see the pictures of your room as I don’t think son of what you said was 100%. I would believe it more if I saw it. Try royal or celebrity’s new ships. They are art museums and very clean. Food is no better but you can upgrade your plan and eat pretty good.
Happy cruising
Hmmm... seems the only common denominator in all this misery was you...funny how some folks have all good things happen to them and others have all bad things happen to them. When you get to the point that people noticeably cringe upon your site and you find great misery over a garbage can being moved, you may want to do some self reflection.
