We had a good time overall.  The restaurant service in Southern Lights for dinner wasn't as good as our last Carnival cruise in June 2015. Our orders were wrong numerous times. The service for brunch in the Southern Lights restaurant was really bad.  The wait staff tried to make the best of it but there is only so much they can do.  Also the brunch food was pretty bad.  The Italian restaurant and the steakhouse service and food was wonderful.  The cruise director, Dr E, I believe, talked incessantly and was funnier to himself than anyone else.  I heard numerous complaints on how he needed to be a little less noticeable.  It also seemed like there was more advertising than normal on board.  The room stewards and drink staff did an excellent job.
