Overall\, the cruise was a lot of fun. We met some great people\, and had an amazing time in Honduras and Belize!

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was good. We had fun each night\, guessing what items would be on the breakfast buffet\, made from what seemed to be\, each night's left overs! Everything else seemed fresh\, and tasted good. There was a decent amount to choose from. The melting chocolate cake is SO good\, as well as the pizza\, and ice cream. The pizza kitchen was NOT open 24 hours like it says. Three different times we went for pizza\, we were told it was closed. The length of time to dine was too long. One night we were there for 3 hours. Most of that time was spent waiting on our food and drinks. We learned quickly to order more than one drink\, and everything we thought we might possibly want to eat\, immediately\, or we would be there for a LONG time. The random entertainment was fun for the kids while dining\, with the exception of the last night\, where we witnessed two of the male staff groping each other. We would have liked for the pizza or buffet to be opened for longer periods of time.

There is a good variety of entertainment & activities for all ages. The problem we had was that some of it was not kid friendly\, and the child camp drop off/ pick up times conflicted with it. Some of the shows and activities also did not start or end at the times stated. For example\, we bought bingo cards\, for a game that was supposed to start at 3. Child camp pick up time was at 3:45. Bingo did not actually start until around 4. With Bingo on one deck\, and camp on another\, one of us missed most of bingo. Most of the comedy shows were good. One was at capacity\, so we were not able to attend\, and another contained NO comedy at all(comedy brunch). We would have liked to have had the daily schedules available before the cruise\, to plan the days out better\, instead of waiting until late at night to see the next days schedule.

Children's Programs

The kids had a lot of fun going to camp. Each day had a different colored theme for the youngest kids\, so we tried to match the kids outfits with the color of the day. It worked out most of the time\, and the kids liked it! The staff was great. The parent-child activities were neat. They have a very large area with lots of fun activities\, clean\, and secure. We were given a cell phone to use on the ship\, so they could contact us if needed. That was nice...most of the time! Our older child was able to contact us by the cell phone from any phone on the ship to check in as well. The only negative about the children's camp\, was that we had to pick them up in the middle of the day\, and couldn't drop them back off until the evening\, and those times conflicted with activities\, shows\, or dining times for us. Our older child enjoyed camp too\, and liked the fact that they were allowed to come and go as they liked. Their favorite activity was the scavenger hunt!

Service and Staff

Constantine\, our housekeeping person was awesome! He recognized us and greeted us by name upon every encounter\, even in the halls. Our room was very clean\, and he even filled the small cooler we brought with ice\, without us ever having to ask. When passing in the halls\, he always asked how we were doing\, and if there was anything that he could do for us. Natalya\, our waitress at the comedy brunch\, was so nice and accommodating. We were so disappointed to have wasted our time going to what we thought was a comedy show and brunch featuring Brian White. There was NO comedy. The guest services people seemed bothered with any questions or concerns\, and were not one bit friendly.

Ship Quality

The ship is very large. The layout is okay. The first night we went to dinner\, we walked up the stairs to the dining room\, where they had a sign that said to go up to the next floor. We went up one floor\, and the sign there said to go down one floor! There were several people we encountered each night who were just as confused as we were that first night. We eventually found dining room on our own. The public areas were clean\, with the exception of a few areas at certain busy times\, but that was to be expected with over 1500 children onboard.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had two connecting rooms with balconies. It was very spacious\, with plenty of storage and counter space. Everything was very clean and nicely decorated. Towels(beach & bath)\, hairdryer\, shampoo\, and soap was all provided. Our rooms were constantly tended to. The kids loved the surprise towel animals left on the beds with chocolates each night! We were conveniently close to the laundry room and the elevators. There was some loud metal banging at night. Overall\, we were quite satisfied with our staterooms.

Pros: Housekeeping\, cleanliness\, variety of activities\, Skymiles shore excursions\, some of the staff members

Cons: Guest services staff\, conflicting scheduling of activities/shows and child camp drop off and pick up times\, Comedy brunch featuring Brian White...there was NO comedy\, the shore excursion we booked through Carnival

Recommends Carnival Magic? Yes!
