Review summary

i have cruised carnival many many times and i would have to say this by far was one of the best experience with carnival i have had food has improved though i find the desserts in dining room boring and not innovative at all on lido deck your cooking staff really has no idea how to carve meat as my husband who is a chef noted meat was dry and tough since carved wrong way at times salad was brown wilted and to me not edible i love all the new eating areas especially the tandoori area what happened to sushi? very disappointing i would highly recommend a noodle house that offers pho which is a vietnamese soup thai food is yummy like their bbq pad thai a noodle dish etc etc and some of their drinks like thai ice tea with boba the prime steak house was exceptional in atmosphere service and of coursethe food. well worth the price of admission the posts were wonderful except the fact that in cozumel we didnt port at the international port like we did last yr which now we had to incur taxi fees to and from our all inclusive day at el cid and the shopping area isnt as contained as it was at international pier jamaica we opted to do not excursions due to the time required to get to the destinations like dunns river falls the appleton plantation etc etc the round trip bus helped but a little pricey peter and sara were extremely informative and helpful great follow up on their part after talks made it very personal for each person waiting to speak with peter a little disappointing that after a while couldnt find them we did the spa experience for the most part worth it many days there was no aroma therapy as expected and the spa staff seemed unconcerned about it. i would prefer to not be committed to daily but a package where you get to chose your days or include a massage instead of the spa the aroma pool to me was never warm enough had to always tell staff towels only by pool in there and not near saunas our room 11256 was really nice too i feel that if you get a suite you should be able to smoke a cigar on the balcony unsure why that restriction is there when you can smoke in other balcony rooms we left a piece of luggage on the shuttle and we were unable to contact anyone til monday and that i found to be extremely frustrating for us since we had to fly home to california and have no reassurance about the bag galveston port easy to navigate on ad off the ship debarkation was a snap i was watching a movie in the evening and what was very annoying and disruptive was the cruise directors announcements which stopped the sound each and everytime. besides that with his accent it made it even more difficult to understand him many many guests were exasperated by the time the movie ended with all his interruptions popcorn at bar should be more readily available as well as peanuts pretzels at the bar liquor prices were comparable to port prices i find your jewerly was much higher i purchased a guess watch and there were no discounts what so ever on this watch brand your perfume and make up has changed not necessarily for the better you used to have a whole section of guess pocketbooks and accessories why dont you carry a brand called parazul? now that there are no cruises left for us out of galveston we now have to go even further to miami this was our second cruise on magic i am a gold member and looked foward to becoming platnium for my next cruise but now you have changed that guideline very disappointing for me you should grandfather gold members to keep their business overall we had a relaxing vacation unfortunately these ports the weather wasnt ideal but that is to be expected during hurricane season thank you for asking my opinion
