Review SummaryWe recently sailed on the Carnival Magic. The service of the staff was outstanding.
The excursion options had a nice selection but standing in line and waiting for buses took away time and did not allow time for exploring or souvenir shopping. Somehow in Cayman we were the first in line but ended up being the last on the bus so that took away 45 minutes from time in the water. When we got to Seven Mile beach there were no umbrellas available for rentals for 30 minutes and yet again more time was wasted. By the end of the trip, the standing in line for everything - pictures, buffet, to be seated for formal dining, stores, excursions, to get on and off the boat, to see shows was most annoying.
The casino was small but nice. I appreciated that one side was for smokers and the other side was for non-smokers. The comedy acts were entertaining. Some of the shows were great and others were mediocre. The schedule offered bingo, trivia, deck parties and other activities to keep the cruisers entertained.
Carnival should offer the option to make reservations for showtimes.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience for a first cruise.
