Good Cruise

Sail Date: April 01, 2012

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Suite

We should have researched the ship better before booking. This ship is themed more toward the family than the average cruise ship. As a result, 30% of the passengers were age 18 or less. While this creates a great atmosphere for the kids to engage in social behavior, it diminishes the staff's ability to carry orderly conduct in all areas of the ship.

Pros: Size of the suite

Cons: Lack of any visible supervision of kids

Recommends Carnival Magic? No.

Food and Dining
The food was average for a cruise ship. There are many places to choose from for dining. The coffee shop was great!
Service and Staff
The staff was eager to please which I suspect prevents them from holding parents accountable for their lack of supervision. There were too many kids loitering the casino area and frequenting the hallways late at night. If you don't mind kids screaming in the halls and knocking on your door at 2:00 a.m., this is a great ship for you!
Average ship activities and entertainment.
Ship Quality
The Magic is larger than the average cruise ship and has a great layout.
Cabin / Stateroom
The suites are spacious and the balconies are great. Huge bathrooms.
