Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Balcony

The ship was OK but nothing really stood out. We had high expectations because it was a brand new ship but it did not impress us. The layout was odd and not well thought out. For example, they positioned the sports court right above the family italian restaurant and it was really noisy in the restaurant when the court was in use. The pools were very small and we were not fans of the contemporary pool deck furnature. It was very hot in the sun.

Pros: The red frog bar and entertainer

Cons: varietyquality of the food in the main dining room

Recommends Carnival Magic? No.

Entertainment
The shows on this boat were some of the worst we have experienced in our many years of cruising. They had some very talented bands/singers/piano and guitar players on this cruise. Individually, they stood out.
Ship Quality
Food and Dining
The food in the marketplace restaurant was very good. We liked the indian, burrito, and wok stations. We were not impressed with the offerings in the main dining room and were bored with the menus by the end of the cruise.
Cabin / Stateroom
Rooms were consistent with other carnival ships.
Service and Staff
The staff on the ship was friendly and focused on providing great service.
