HAD A GOOD TIME by aabaur2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

NICE WEATHER, GOOD FOOD AND TWO WONDERFUL SHOW. THE GREAT SERVICE WAS APPRECIATED AS WELL AS THE EASE OF GETTING A TABLE FOR TWO FOR ANYTIME DINING.  MY HUSBAND HAS HEARING ISSUES AND

IT'S ALWAYS HARD SITTING AT A TABLE WITH OTHERS AND HE CAN'T TAKE

PART IN A CONVERSATION.

Overall thoughts and idea by snowdenlarrimor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

There were beverage stations available at all times and ice cream machines. We decided that having the buffets for breakfast & lunch was better then the dining room, more choices. The dining room is nice and the food is great but they like for you to be dressy casual, no shorts and muscle shirts or flip flops, etc. The candid pictures were not always good but the photo stations of various set-ups looked real nice.  All the staff was very helpful and nice and kept the eating areas clean and tidy. Plenty of good entertainment during the day and night. Gift shops were reasonable.

Excellent by trinie01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

From the moment we set foot on the ship everyone was friendly and helpful. The ship is clean, the entertainment (way too many to list) was great, and the food over all was good. We did the Chef's Table one evening and it was awesome! Reserve a head of time, it fills up! The main dining was good as well. I'm not a buffet person so I didn't really go there for more than fruit in the morning. BRING your own cans of soda! It was a saver :)

The Faster To The Fun also made this cruise so much more relaxing because we didn't have to wait in long lines at Guest Services, we boarded the ship first, we got off the ship early and zipped through customs. I'll never travel without it.

Because there is always room for improvement, there weren't enough trash can dispensers around. Another thing, the activities are stacked on top of each other...so you really can't do it all! I would definitely cruise on the Liberty again!

30th Anniversary Cruise by kevmac447

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My wife and I took this cruise to celebrate our 30th anniversary.

We had never been on a cruise and never been out of the country.  It was well worth all of the effort and expense for a one time trip.  It was disappointing food, dated decor and ammentities but all in all a very good time.

We had alot of help from our Cheap Cruises rep. Lexi when we picked a room and the type of room.

I would not cruise with Carnival again if I ever go again.

This was my first cruise and it was perfect experience. It was organized and everything was very structured to even when I thought would be long waits, it was not. All around everything was the best.

First Cruise by rachelp33

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I wouldn't recommend this cruise if you have children.  I have a 10 and 12 year old and there wasn't much on the boat for them to do besides swim.  The on board activities were nothing to write home to either. Sad

Dinner Reservation, Staff not as friendly, smell in certain areas of ship by wh1949

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was my fifth time sailing with Carnival.  We asked for a 6:00 p.m. dining time and ended up with a 8:15 p.m. time.  We went to the Head of the dining room and was told they were taking requests and it was no guarantee and that they could not change it before the next day.  My doctor has asked that I eat by 6:00 p.m. and since the earliest option is 6:00, that is why I always choose that.  I do not like for someone to change something and not contact you to see if it is okay.  There was a lady in the gift shop where the carnival cups were and she was very rude.  They need to put people in there that can speak and understand English.  The ship had a smell as if sewage was backed up.  Instead of them taking the ships right back out they need to check the problems like that instead of trying to make every dollar.  In other areas, staff acted as if you were a bother when asking questions.

You can pretty much know what their menu is.  They need to have more healthy options.  They need to have one area for smoking.  To get to the gift shops and customer services you had to go through smoke.  That is irritating because smoke makes me sick and hard to catch your breath.

Great honeymoon experience by blairemerritt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My spouse and I had a great time on our Carnival Liberty cruise.  There were charges that weren't discussed with us prior to processing them which was frustrating, but everything was easily resolved once we spoke with the information desk and charges were then cleared.

Okay Experience (but poor compared to Disney) by MichaelinNC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

After two Disney cruises, I have to admit that I was a bit spoiled. This cruise was okay and I got out of it what I was looking for, relaxation at a fair price, but nothing about the cruise was impressive. Also, I felt that Carnival nickled and dimed you whenever possible.

Compared to the Disney cruise, this Carnival cruise was far cheaper 1/3 of the cost), but the lower cost was definitely reflected in the amenities. On a Disney cruise, there are more activities available, the entertainment for adults and children alike is better, the food is better, and overall customer service is better.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Love the food and hole cruise, everything was clean! I truly recommend it!

People from housekeeping were so great, they were always willin to help and aware of someone needs something.

Only thing are the high prices for everything.

One of my greatest experiences in my life. I thought I would be scared because of all the water. I was very relaxed and really enjoyed myself. My kids as well.

Would not cruise Carnival Liberty again. by blackberryunc2k

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Although there were some good things about my cruise, the more important things were not as good. After talking to the travel agent about trying four to a room I thought it would be okay. It was in no way okay. The four to a room option should NOT be suggested for a party of 4 adults. I was travel with a group of women around their 60s so naturally the youngest would get the top bunk. The ladder was not stable, the bed was hard and there weren't any other options according to customer service. I even asked about a mattress for the floor and was told it was not possible due to safety hazards. Getting good rest during a cruise is one of the more important parts of a cruise vacation. This did not feel like a vacation to me. Also the disembarking was very long and tedious. Had I known I would've gone through such a process I would. It have done the recommended part of placing my luggage outside of my door the night before. The highlights of this cruise was the food and the comedy show. This was my mother's 64th birthday cruise and she was giving two coupons. One of them was $50 off a spa; however the coupon expired within the next day, so when she wanted to use it, it was not able to be used. This was a brief cruise so I think it would've been better to give her an onboard credit. I also bought an internet package and the internet barely worked the entire time. I would not suggest anyone to buy the internet package. If I were to consider using Carnival again it would definitely not be four to a room or on the Liberty. I felt more movement than I ever did out of the four cruises I've been on. Again I would not recommend this to anyone.

Poor to Say the Least by mike1374a

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

What did I like? The weather was good.

What did I not like? The food was horrible, over cooked, the bacon was literally dripping with grease. Chicken breast was powder dry and from a miniature rooster. Went to the special brunch and tried the steak and eggs. It was  advertised as filet with an egg on top. The "filet" was so tough and loaded with gristle that it was almost impossible to cut let alone eat. Tried the Mongolian Beef and once again the beef was unedible. They had just shrunk down the adult area outside so we spent the day with kids underfoot and dripping water on us.

The room service was non-existent. We had to beg for ice. The cabin butler actually unzipped and opened up a cooler we had and put ice in it. If it's zipped up, leave it zipped up.

Find somewhere other than Nassau, there's really nothing to see. And most definitely don't do it on Carnival.

Carnival Liberty | Apr 09, 2017 | 4 Night Bahamas (Port Canaveral Roundtrip) by kellerc6nkuedu

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall, I would rate the experience a 2.5. The cabin is in desperate need of an update. Also, not that people take a cruise to watch television but given the reception and quality it is almost obsolete. The extended deck was nice but unsure if was worth almost $1500.00 for the 4 days. We did enjoyed the burgers and tacos. The dinner service left something to be desired. The first evening we waited for 45 minutes before the bottle of wine arrived at the table. In addition, I ordered the "surf & turf" only to find out 1/2 an hour later that there was no lobster. Which in turn delayed the service. Because of that experience we opted not to return the following evening. However, on the 3rd & 4th nights we did return. The experience again left something to be desired. I can only assume by the very dismal turn out those evenings, many must have experienced the same disappointment. The staff were all very friendly & the cruise director is a definite hit. It may take some serious incentives for us to consider another Carnival cruise in the near future.
