Worst vacation ever. by user5619

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Cattle herd.  3600 people on board.  Food mediocre.  No cell phone service at sea.  WiFi was 25 bucks a day and extreeeemly, tediously slow.  Was in port in the Bahamas for about 8 hours. Day 3 was entirely at sea wandering aimlessly at sea when we could have spent more time in the Bahamas and made a direct line back.  No one would answer the passenger service line half the time. Could not escape noise throughout trip.  Bottled water was $3.75 in the room.  Channel selection in the room was crap. Debarkation and  boarding was tedious with 3600 people to move.  Muster area was hot, humid, elbow to elbow while at the mandatory safety briefing for about 45 minutes.  Very uncomfortable. Hated the trip. Last ocean cruise for me. I might try a European river cruise after I fully recover from this traumatic experience.  I can't believe I paid for this torture.

The carnival cruise by colettelg7104

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

It was me and my family first cruise and it was the worst cruise ever! They over charged everyone's credit cards and guest services desk lines were so long. I will never take a cruise on the carnival again! And I will make sure none of my family or friends. Travel with carnival cruise boat!

A memorable cruise by lprodell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I did this cruise for my son and his fiancé 40th birthday, and they had a very memorable time. It was a very nice family time, and our own time. Now they want to do this for Christmas. You cannot beat cruising, everything is right there for you, your only decision is what you want to do and what you want to eat.

One of the worst ever by rwarrenmarine1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Unfortunately, because of poor lighting in the room where I had to pick up the on board items that I purchased, I fell because I didn't see a step, and I'm in excruciating pain! Twisted my ankle. Fractured bone and ripped ligaments. Very bad experience.....swollen, black and blue foot and ankle.

We had a good time on the Carnival Liberty. The boat is a little old, but it has some renovations. The burger joint is great. The staff was wonderful.

Trip experience by cory40583

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My favorite part of the cruise as always been the access to drink eat and play as much as i pleased as well as enjoying the staff as well. This time around I purchased the cheers package and that enhanced my experience by 1000 the best decision i could have made. Only thing that could have been different to me is...this is my 3rd cruise and ut seemed like housekeeping were less attentive to me on this cruise which was shorter than my last 2...also they discontinued lobster on the short cruises as well...a lot of people were looking forward to that...also it seems that the liquor is also higher on shorter cruises. But overall i had a enjoyable time.

Birthday Celebration 2017 by Cruiser70716765

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Favorite Part...being with family.

Cruising is the number one way to be with family and not feel overwhelmed with trying to figure out what to do for entertainment.

Could use improvement...didn't like how they had different areas for the Club Ocean events. We had a few of our families traveling with us who had kids in each of the age groups. 2-12. Some of the age group events were in front of the ship and others were in the back. I made for a difficult time to check in and check out. Kids loved it thought.

1st trip review by jackietran1972

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was ourr first  cruise trip. We all have fun. Was a little disappointed on the pool size. It was too smalll and crowd so my familly didn't go swimming or use the bout tub. The foods area should open longer.  Besides that everything was wonderful. Excellent service by your staff and we enjoy the entertainment by Donkey.

6/18th 4 Night Bahamas Carnival Liberty by bartonrobin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The Cruise was  EVERYTHING l WANTED FOR A FUN-FILLED EXCITING VACATION!!! I ENJOYED EVERY MOMENT......DID NOT WANT MY VACATION TO END AT ALL!! LOL!!Happy

My only concern is that l went with a few of my relatives and their agent from offered $100 credit voucher, but my agent did not offer on the phone call that l booked early months ahead. I feel if agents are trained to make offers to everyone for 1st time callers, it would of been great to earn a good discount while on vacation. Otherwise l would consider going back and book again with

This ship's staff is amazing!! Remembered everyone's names, always there to accommodate you.  One of our excursions had to be cancelled due to weather conditions and they explained every option to us and we ended up having an amazing day!!

Good fun but most food was disappointing by GreenEyedP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My boyfriend and I took this cruise as our first vacation together. He had been on a cruise in his 20's but this was my first cruise. I will start with the disappointing aspects and then move to the good parts of this cruise.

We really enjoyed the late night sessions at the comedy club but the sing-along piano bar was disappointing. We have a dueling piano bar where we live and we take people there for special occasions a few times a year. The singer in the piano bar did his own renditions of songs so it was hard to sing a long to and he also kept calling up this one guy and his family to sing with him. I wanted to be chosen to sing along to the point where I said out loud "oh, this is MY song" (and we were sitting at the bar right next to him) and he called up a teenage girl who had just walked in after we had been the second group to enter the room that night.

We ate in the dining room only one night of our cruise and that was the formal night or what we knew as the captain's dinner. The dining room was beautiful and we were greeted by name as we sat but upon looking at the menu I noticed that steaks and surf and turf items said that they were $20 extra. I asked the waiter about this and he confirmed and I asked if that was even the case for the captain's night dinner and he again said yes. I ordered the scallops and although they were supposed to be sea scallops, they looked more like bay scallops because they were so overcooked. So the scallops were very chewy and there was also only 5 of them. We had late dining and it seemed like the food was cooked for the early diners and microwaved for us. The food on the buffet was better than the dining room but the burgers and pizza were the best part of the cruise! This is probably because they were cooked fresh and you could taste the difference.

We had some difficulties with the shore excursions with one of ours being cancelled but it was refunded and we were given a small discount on the next one we booked. The guest services reps were a bit rude with each encounter I had with them. I understand they deal with difficult things in their job but they do not have to be rude to paying guests who have questions about charges.

The cruise director Donkey, was awesome! We knew that anything he was hosting was going to be good after the first night. From his dance parties to the variety show to our favorite- the love and marriage show- everything he touched was gold! You can tell he has a love for his job and we thoroughly enjoyed all shows on this cruise.

The 24 hour pizza (I hope those guys get the tips I paid instead of the dining room staff) and 24 hour soft serve were our favorite part. We were in an aft facing room so both were close to us and we enjoyed staying on that side of the boat. We also took advantage of our Nassau excursion starting later by going to the mini golf, basketball/volleyball, and slide when there were very few people on board.

Overall, we had a great time on this cruise but besides the pizza and burgers, the food was disappointing. We will likely not travel Carnival again because it was very clear why the prices for this cruise line are so low. You may pay less before you get on board but you will pay a great deal on board (with Bingo and other "tournaments") if you aren't very careful.

Awesome 1st cruise by ptboswell67

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our first cruise and we enjoyed it.  We have decided this was our best ever vacation and will be cruising again. We LOVED Donkey the Cruise Director.  He made us laugh more than we have in a while.  The casino was great, as was the food.  The only complaint, We were charged for a bottle of wine that we never ordered or received.  We also were charged for gratuities even though we left tips for everyone.  They did remove them from our bill after requesting them to.  Need to tell anyone that cashes out to their Sail card that they need to go to the casino cashier to retrieve their money.  I was not told this until I went to guest services to question our account. The morning of the disembarking I felt we were rushed to get off the boat earlier than 8am.   All in all, we will be cruising again.

Very Good Cruise by MatthewRobison

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I was on the same cruise prior to the ship being remodeled and I must say they did an amazing job.  The ship is beautiful.  The staff is very nice and the food was amazing.  The steakhouse which is an extra charge was well worth it as the food was almost a 5 star quality.

The only downside is disembarking.  It was a total cluster and could have been organized better.  This is one thing Carnival should look into to see how to streamline the disembarking procedures.

Service and Staff were Horrendous by KimEyeAm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was my 2nd cruise, the first being on Royal.  The staff on Carnival was borderline rude.  After speaking with them it's because most are overworked and unhappy.  the food was pretty good, but the service was well below par.  The best part of the cruise ship experience was the Diamond Restaurant. The staff was very professional and seated and served us quickly.  the food was really good as well.

I had issues with a very loud noise that kept me from sleeping 2 nights straight.  They finally came to fix it (after I complained twice - both nights) but their "gift" of covering our meals ($35 for me and my 2 kids) was an insult.  I came on the cruise to relax and that didn't happen.  The trip was for my son's graduation gift and my daughter's 13th birthday gift.

Unless someone GAVE me a cruise, I would not ever cruise with Carnival again.

3 cheers for Carnival Liberty! by jsangalang

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Liberty / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall, I really enjoyed our cruise onboard the Carnival Liberty. The staff -- it's like "Cheers," where everybody knows your name. Everyone we encountered was nice and hospitable. Some had a beacon for knowing if you were lost on the ship -- they recognized the "deer in headlights" look and would approach you with a helping hand. In fact, when I got lost in the gym and spa area, someone told me to always look for the green running man signs. I did that for the duration of the cruise. Helpful tips and top-notch customer service like that make a vacation memorable. We were very happy with Carnival -- the service, the price, the vacation. It was the whole package. HappyLoveYummyWinkBig Smile No frownie or angry emojis here!Big Smile
