Review summary

Overall, we really enjoyed our fist cruise. We felt very relaxed and stress free. In fact, we took a nap or two during the days. The ship was really rocking a couple of nights. There were a couple of people getting sick. My husband and I started taking Non-Drowsy Dramamine a day BEFORE embarkation. So, we were fine. We felt it more on the top decks. Our cabin was on the 2nd deck and we didn't feel it as much. We didn't do any excursions. We really enjoyed the ship not being so crowded on those days.

Embarkation

We didn't get to port till around 1:00. There was still a long line. But, because we had Faster to the Fun we were able to board almost immediately.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We ate at the buffet twice. Both times were just OK. The food wasn't very appetizing. The deli was good, Guy's Burger was good and the Blue Iguana was good. However, the main dining room was VERY good. We had dinners and breakfasts there.

Guy's Burger Joint

4 out of 5

The burgers were good. The fries were great. At the side bar you can put on mushrooms and grilled onions, ketchup, etc.

Golden Olympian Restaurant

5 out of 5

We had breakfast and dinners here. Food was great!! The waiters were very nice and we loved the shows they put on.

Emile's Lido Restaurant

3 out of 5

We did not like the food in the buffet. We tried it twice. There wasn't a huge selection and it didn't have a lot of taste.

Deli

4 out of 5

There is a long line for this. But, it's the only place to get a sandwich/hot dog and fries. Food was good

BlueIguana Cantina

5 out of 5

We had the burritos for lunch. Very good and very filling.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We didn't do activities. Although, we did go to the Serenity area a couple of times for the hot tubs. Note: go early on port days because everyone is getting off the ship, and you basically have the hot tub to yourself. But, if you go later, everyone is getting back on the ship and that's the first place they go. Very crowded later in the day.

Serenity

4 out of 5

It was nice. We liked laying in the clam shell loungers. There were no kids. So, it was nice and quiet.

Hot Tubs

4 out of 5

We went in the hot tubs twice in the serenity area. The fist time was great. There was only one other person in it with us. The second time, it was pretty much jammed packed. We were lucky enough to get a clam shell lounger. So, we just enjoyed the weather.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were great!! The trio violin players were excellent. NoNo the cruise director was very good too.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The waiters & our room steward were very nice.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The design was nice. The common areas were very clean and look well-maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised when we saw the size of our cabin. There was plenty of room and even a couch to sit on. The bed and the pillows were very comfortable.

Ship tip

Please know that for the Golden Olympian restaurant there are two levels. One is for reserved time dining and the other is for any time dining. People were going on the wrong levels and getting very upset.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Did not do an excursion. Just got on ship.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation went well. We were able to get off the ship faster with Faster to the Fun and because we were taking our luggage with us.
