What a great time! As a first time cruiser I was not sure what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised. We have already started looking to book our next cruise.
Shipmate was a fantastic app for me because it allowed me to do my homework, make a plan, and learn from those that had more experience.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The entire process of getting on the ship was smooth and easy. I expected long lines and a painful waiting experience. I could not have been more wrong. From the time we were dropped off at Port to the time we had entered the ship was less than 30 minutes. We were allowed to enter our rooms by 1:30 pm and all of our luggage had arrived by 2:00 pm.

Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food on the ship was amazing. There were so many options and so much food that it was difficult at times to select what to eat. The workers were great, the lines moved quickly, and the quality of food was top notch. The main dining staff was fantastic as well.

Entertainment
5 out of 5
Without a doubt the best part of the entertainment is the cruise director "Donkey". Wherever Donkey was there were people having fun. We loved the "Love and Marriage" show, the "scary hair chest" competition, "80's and 90's music trivia", and the punch liners comedy club. This cruise was so much fun!

Service and Staff

Everyone on the ship made us feel welcome. The people smiled when they greeted you. Our cabin steward called us by name each day and asked how we were doing. It was an overall great job by Carnival.
Ship Quality

There was always someone cleaning something. Really. Everywhere you looked for the entire cruise there were people cleaning.

Ship tip
I was very impressed with Carnival. This was my first experience with a cruise and was not exactly sure what all I could expect. I was very pleasantly surprised.
My wife and I decided to go on a self guided walking tour of Nassau and enjoyed it. We saw the Queen's staircase, the fort, and did some shopping. While this was fun I believe the next time we go we will book an excursion.
I read and read about how there is not much to do in Freeport and everyone was right. However this was our favorite part of the whole trip. We took a taxi to the Grand Lucayan and bought a day pass. Their private beach is amazing. The infinity pool is amazing. This was a great stop and a great day!
This is where things got a little crazy. The problem with disembarkation day is not so much a Carnival problem as it is a people problem. Carnival clears floors allowing certain people to leave at certain intervals. Unfortunately people do not follow instructions. There were people everywhere. The elevators were packed. The whole process was unpleasant. I gave this 3 stars because I realized not all of this is Carnival's fault but it was still unpleasant.
It just goes to show that with a little homework on this app a first-time Cruiser can Cruise like a pro. It is filled with great people with great information
