Review summary

Cruising is a great multi-generational way to vacation together. Personally we always take an interior cabin because we do not spend alot of time in the cabin.

Embarkation

The staff were extremely helpful in assisting my 90 year old parents. They allowed 6 additional family members to accompany them throughout the whole process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The main dining room's food was excellent. Unfortunately our party of 8 was asked to split up and sit at 2 tables next to each. This was totally unacceptable and I brought my concern to the Maitre'D. He rectified the situation and found a table for 8. My daughter-in-law is Deaf and we really should have initially requested a round table for ease of communication. After the 1st night our request was granted and we changed to a round table for 8. I was disappointed with the limited buffet hours and how crowded it was at all times. If a person at brunch at noon, by 2:30 when the buffet closed, we were not hungry. Having to wait until 6pm for it to re-open was too long of a stretch. Yes I know there was pizza and sandwiches available. When the buffet was closed these lines were extremely long and I prefer to have healthier choices available. For the amount of people in the Lido lounge, the staff did a great job clearing the tables as they became vacant and we never had to wait for a table.

Service and Staff

Our waitress in the main dining room, Gamma, was fantastic! She served my 90 year old parents quickly. My daughter-in-law is Deaf and Gamma was not afraid to do whatever it took to communicate directly with her rather than asking one of us. In addition, Gamma would ask, "how do you sign ____" in order to communicate in ASL. Our booking agent, Naiesha was very easy to work with. She assisted us with requesting "services for the Deaf" including a doorbell, TTY and vibrating alarm clock. She also informed us that an ASL Interpreter would be made available if requested. Having, John, the interpreter available made a huge difference for our family celebration.

We were able to request the courtesy van to pick up my 90 year old parents at the exit of the ship vs. having to walk down the length of the boat to the "bus stop." It was extremely hot and we were traveling with 2 mobility impaired, 90 year olds. We hired a private taxi to tour us around the island.

Disembarkation

The staff were extremely helpful in assisting my 90 year old parents. They allowed 6 additional family members to accompany them throughout the whole process. They delivered my parents directly to our car parked in the garage!

Agree interior room for me. Love the pitch dark for sleeping. ....but we are hardly in the room, so would rather be on deck to see n hear the ocean.
