Review summary

Although there were some good things about my cruise, the more important things were not as good. After talking to the travel agent about trying four to a room I thought it would be okay. It was in no way okay. The four to a room option should NOT be suggested for a party of 4 adults. I was travel with a group of women around their 60s so naturally the youngest would get the top bunk. The ladder was not stable, the bed was hard and there weren't any other options according to customer service. I even asked about a mattress for the floor and was told it was not possible due to safety hazards. Getting good rest during a cruise is one of the more important parts of a cruise vacation. This did not feel like a vacation to me. Also the disembarking was very long and tedious. Had I known I would've gone through such a process I would. It have done the recommended part of placing my luggage outside of my door the night before. The highlights of this cruise was the food and the comedy show. This was my mother's 64th birthday cruise and she was giving two coupons. One of them was $50 off a spa; however the coupon expired within the next day, so when she wanted to use it, it was not able to be used. This was a brief cruise so I think it would've been better to give her an onboard credit. I also bought an internet package and the internet barely worked the entire time. I would not suggest anyone to buy the internet package. If I were to consider using Carnival again it would definitely not be four to a room or on the Liberty. I felt more movement than I ever did out of the four cruises I've been on. Again I would not recommend this to anyone.

Service and Staff

Crew members were nice but most of them could not understand me. And so that made making requests more difficult.

Ship Quality

Windows in he room and outside were very dirty. Made taking pictures difficult.

Cabin / Stateroom

The windows were dirty so pics were not an option, the bunk bed was hard and the ladder was unstable. The worst room I've ever stayed in on a cruise.

Ship tip

The pictures were expensive, boat was very rocky, windows dirty, bring your own water bottle, check their requirements because they won't t let you bring it through check-in, don't bother purchasing the internet package & don't set your luggage out the night before if you want to leave on time.

Self debarkation is a hassle unless you absolutely need to get off early.

I think your main issue is with your travel agent!

As a travel agent I have been on many ships, have done inspections and a very lengthy (2yrs) of training regarding every ship. I know that 4 people is very uncomfortable. You only have 185 sqft to move about and sleep in. That's not going to be comfortable at all. I just would advise against it. We as travel agents have a personal service where we talk to our clients and get involved in their vacation. As well as when you book online or on the phone you aren't helping a locally owned business and your local economy. I love my travel partners but my customers want personal service.

Just because a cabin can sleep 4 does not mean it will be comfortable.....like a Mini Cooper can seat 4...... but not comfortable for 4 football players.

A Travel Agent has a lot more training then the cruise line staff,  agents have been on more ships tours.  Thing is you need a TA that does a lot of cruises.  My TA warned me against NCL,  he was correct.....and NCL rep would tell me it's the best thing in the world.

As a travel agent I have to disagree with you Fantabler. A good agent would NEVER recommend 4 adults to a standard cabin. Great agents don't just book vacations - we spend countless hours in training, tour ships, and engage with our clients for feedback. I personally would rather lose a sale of one cabin for four adults then to have unhappy clients.

Marybee56    7 years ago

why on earth would you try to put 4 adults in such a small space?

Leerock    7 years ago

why would you do that in the first place?

If I was going to book a cruise, I wouldn't use a travel agent. I would use the cruise customer service. they would have a much better idea as to how many people to a room would be comfortable. travel agents may have experience booking vacations but that doesn't mean they have tried all the different size rooms or each ship for that matter. So I would think that their opinion would weight far less than the cruise customer service.

If you went to Guest Services about the interenet they usually wull refund you, spa coupons are given to me every cruise, its free but a way to get you "in" the spa which I don't frequent, FTTF is worth it for embark & debarking, I would never suggest anyone use bunk beds over 21, lol nor 4 women in one room & one bathroom.

Four to a room sounds miserable, especially with one tiny bathroom! I recommend Faster-to-the-Fun next time with carnival! VIP boarding and disembarking! Without FTTF, I've waited 2-3hrs at debarkation -- with FTTF, you're first off the ship with VIP platinum folks, and the whole process takes maybe 20minutes.

You should try Princess, but still only 2 to a room unless you have a suite
