Review summary

I was onthe sailing 9/6/2015.That was the cruise where there was an engine fire.We stuck in St Thomas for 3 days a then sent home. It was a terrible experience. We were off the ship for 9 hrs that day. In the heat and no info as to when we were getting backnowledge onboard. Itwas 9pm  before we're really boarded the ship.Very little food or drink was provided by Carnival. We basically were on our own.Disorganization was the word of thiscruise.NooNE seemed to k ow what to do.

One of the crew members told us that the ships get dry docked every 2 years

Carnival Liberty was awesome when we were on it in February of 2014.

Where did u hear the Liberty was getting more enhancements? It was already dry docked and upgraded in 2011. Curious might be on it in March.

I've never had a ship brake down I don't have good luck like that

Yeah it was tough..... we was "stuck" in St. Thomas for 4 days and got to visit Megans Bay 2 days in a row, we had plenty to do on the ship at night, we got to experience a cruise ship for the first time and learn about the shows and everything else. When we got back to San Juan they had excursions we could go on the we wouldn't have been able to experience. Like I said we made the best of what we was dealt.

sounds like a tough time

Yes. Everyone got $150 per passenger for not being able to be on the ship for 1 day, 100% refund of cruise price including per paid tips and gratuities, 50% off next cruise and when we got home we received a letter from the CEO stating they would pay for travel expenses. We stayed in St. Thomas until Thursday sailed backed to San Juan stayed on the ship until Sunday and flew home.

It seems like it wasn't a big loss then maybe inconvenient but life is full of inconveniences it is all in how you handle them

Did you all get some kind of compensation for the cruise with engine fire

My wife and I was also on this cruise. We stayed on the ship the entire week. We made the best of the situation. Unfortunately when dealing with mechanical things they break down or have other problems once in awhile. The Coast Guard was in control of the ship in saying when paseengers and crew could board the ship after the fire that was why the crew didn't have your answers. The whole situation could have been a lot worse if it would have happened at sea. Look for negative and all you will see is negative.
