Much Needed Getaway

Sail Date: March 22, 2015

Room Type: Balcony

I booked the cruise with my sister and best friend for a very much needed getaway.  It was not my first time booking on Carnival, but it did solidify that I very much enjoy everything Carnival has to offer.  It was the perfect way to relax and enjoy days at sea, but get to see multiple ports I had never been to before.  The excursions were a bit pricey for what we were looking to do, but we were able to take advantage of locals giving tours for great rates and that way, we could see more that you normally wouldn't have the opportunity to see.  Be sure not to miss Alchemy or the comedy club while you are on board...we had some of our best times watching our drinks being made and laughing through the evenings.

Cabin / Stateroom
It was nice that they could accommodate 3 twin beds so that each of us had our own space to sleep.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
It was nice to be able to explore the city, but Blackbeard's Castle was a bit disappointing.
Basseterre, St. Kitts
Take one of the local taxi tours of the island. You'll get to see more for much less money.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Don't miss Maho Beach (Airport beach). The bar there has great local beer for cheap while you watch the planes land barely over your head.
Tortola, British Virgin Islands
Either book an excursion, plan to just sit on the beach or stay on the ship.
San Juan, Puerto Rico
So much to do, but so little time. If you are finishing in this port, make sure to leave yourself time to spend in Puerto Rico before you fly out.

Tip

Skip the main show lounge for the smaller comedy club...you won't be sorry. If you're there to have a good time and drink, the Cheers program is more than worth it. Take advantage of the Serenity deck early before the loungers are gone.
