Eastern Carribbean with Carnival

We have been on 3 other cruises with Norwegian and Royal Carribbean. We like the ships better. We like the food, the entertainment, and the on-ship activities better on all three of those than on this Carnival ship. When they say "fun ship" they mean dancing, drinking, and gambling -- so far as adult activities. They allow people to reserve deck chairs, when it is posted not to do so. We know of one party that put stuff on chairs at least 2 hours before coming to claim them. Others removed their stuff from the chairs so they had a place to sit, and then when the "reservers" came to get the chairs, the complained about it. This was done on a large scale, not just a few. The bar staff actually serve alcholic beverages to passengers in the hot tubs when it is posted that such beverages are not allowed in the pool or hot tubs. One party of 6-7 people took over a hot tub, got drunk, loud and did crazy things like doing hand stands in the hot tub.

Pros: St. Thomas and San Juan ports

Cons: Carnival staff do not enforce some of their rules; see comments.

The ship itself is fine; not the best one we've been on.
