Ports were amazing!!!!

Sail Date: November 05, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The ship itself was beautiful; however, the entertainment, specifically the music, was extremely lame. Generally the demographics for Carnival are younger, but the music in the lounges was more like soft rock from an earlier decade geared more toward older adults. The main pool area was very small and and there were not many deck parties, usually the best part after a day in port and an excellent way to connect with other passengers.

Pros: The ports

Cons: the lack of entertainment on the ship

Recommends Carnival Liberty? No.

Ship Quality
The ship was mid-sized and not difficult to navigate; the decor was very nice and everything was extremely clean.
Food and Dining
We did not have a chance to check out Harry's Steakhouse, but Guy's Burgers were amazing and very high quality. The buffet had a nice selection of food and the hours were very convenient. The best part, though, was the main dining room. The food was actually better than I expected and there were many good options every night.
Cabin / Stateroom
The stateroom was the perfect size for two people and laid out so that it never seemed cluttered. The mattresses really needed to be replaced, especially since one of the big advertised points were the "special" super-comfy carnival bedding - NOT!! Mattress was old and hard. The stateroom was in excellent condition and very clean.
Service and Staff
I cannot say enough good things about every single staff member we met onboard. Everyone seemed to be smiling and couldn't be more helpful.
Entertainment
The comedians were VERY good, their show times were very convenient. The shows in the main salon were mediocre, but the performers were very enthusiastic and tried to do the best they could with the material.
George Town, Grand Cayman
This is also a beautiful island with excellent beaches and great snorkeling.
Don't Miss: Sting Ray City Sandbar
Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
I would definitely recommend hiring a Roatan native to show you around the island. They can take you to sites that you wouldn't normally know about through guide books. BEAUTIFUL beaches and the snorkeling is INCREDIBLE!
Don't Miss: Snorkeling
Belize City, Belize
The people we met that were from Belize City were very friendly and parts of Belize are just beautiful and unspoiled.
Don't Miss: Cave tubing/zip line excursion
Cozumel, Mexico
We visited the Mayan ruins at this port and it was an all-day excursion, so we didn't feel as though we properly experienced Cozumel. Next time, though!
Don't Miss: Mayan Ruins
