Review Summary

Too many people on top of each other every time you turn around it seemed. Carnival is constantly dinging customers for more expenses once we arrived on ship.

Ship Experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Plenty of good choices on the buffet. Service in the main dinning is slow, both at breakfast and dinner. Menu did not have a wide selection of deserts...repeats each night.

3 out of 5
On this seven night cruise there were only three shows in the main room. Additional lounges offered some great entertainers (comedians). Not enough smoke-free areas.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
For a large ship, it was clean and maintained well. There were plenty of deck chairs even when they were being "saved" by fellow passengers. The number of elevators seemed to handle the passenger load.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Great Room Stewards...never saw ours the entire trip, but the room was always clean and ready for us when we returned.

Ports Of Call

Grand Turk Island

3 out of 5
There is nothing on this small island except beaches and more beaches. Snorkeling was OK, but not great compared to the western Caribbean ports.
Don't Miss: Jack's Shack bar and grill is 500 meters north from the dock area where everyone seems to congregate. Jack and Janet offer a friendly laid-back experience compared to Jimmy Buffet's.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
We visited a public beach and skipped the excursions completely...too expensive for what you were able to do on your own.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

3 out of 5
Old San Juan is just a crowded shopping maul without a roof.
Don't Miss: El Moro is history and needs to be visited once.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
See it once and that is plenty. Atlantis is the only drawing card now.
Don't Miss: Eat fresh conch salad at Senor Frog's.

Pros: Smooth embarkation and disembarkation process.

Cons: Just TOO many people to enjoy yourself.

Recommends Carnival Liberty? No.
