Disappointing and Expensive

Sail Date: December 01, 2007

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

This was our first cruise for my wife and the three boys. Food was average, entertainment was fair and too expensive. If it was not for the balcony room it would have been very miserable. The crew was not very friendly. the Golden Dining Room for our evening dinner the waiter was rude. We stopped at Nassau very short stop, Grand Cayman shopping was decent but nothing was cheap. Then Horror Island- Ocho Rios, DO NOT GET OFF IN JAMAICA! We used ship excursions and they were nothing to write home about then everyone is trying to sell you pot and the authorities arrested five people from the ship that were actually set up by the Jamaican's. The people on the island are very poor and they are desperate for tourist money. The ship did not give us any information and they do not care what happens to you... it is all about staying on schedule and making as much money as possible from the passengers. We bought Jamaican Rum & Cuban cigars and no one told us not to buy them till when the cruise is over then they tell you would be arrested if you bring one Cuban cigar into US and only allowed one duty free rum per person.
The shops on the ship is again for the ship to make money on junk stuff. they make photographs of the family and charge alot for them. Will not take another cruise even if someone paid for one.

Pros: Balcony View

Cons: Ocho Rios
