Review summary

Our first cruise: We were very impressed by the efficiency and friendliness of the staff. The room stewards did an amazing job & the waiters at dinner were just a riot. We were unable to port in Costa Maya due to high winds and the cruise director quickly put together a great itinerary for a fun day at sea. Despite the missed port and cancelled excursion in Bahama, we loved the experience & will definitely cruise again. We enjoyed the escape, relaxation & intimacy, but can envision the fun we'll have cruising with a group of friends.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was good, not outstanding, but terrific presentation. Am a bit selective, so might be more critical than most. Enjoyed the balsamic salads with dinner - balsamic dressing not available in the buffet. Loved the pizza & burgers on Lido.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Cruise director, Todd did a super job. Especially enjoyed "Survivor" on the Lido deck.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
We didn't travel with our kids, but Camp Carnival must've done a great job - we barely noticed kids on board!

Service and Staff

Everyone was very friendly. I did observe an omelette chef get cranky when a fellow crew member tried to snitch a few mushrooms for a passenger in a different omelette line! I wonder if he had to do his own prep work!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Unbelievably clean 24-7.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Room size was as expected - we were on a ship! As stated, the room stewards did an amazing job. Loved the towel animals - a very special touch. Turn down service every night made it feel luxurious.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

Must swim with the Stingray. I was pretty nervous about it, but they're incredible creatures. Snorkeling was pretty good too.
Don't Miss: Stingray sandbar

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

Been in one store - been in them all. The beach was pretty. Our excursions were cancelled due to the chance of inclimate weather. There's not much to do without a plan.

Pros: Selection of entertainment at any given time

Cons: Searching for a free deck lounge chair on days at sea
