2013 Cruise Escape

Sail Date: January 01, 2013

Reviewed: 3 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Balcony

The ship was mid size, but ample public places, quiet corners to retreat to, plenty of deck chairs. Especially loved the round basket chairs and hammocks in the adult area. Decor was a bit gaudy, and the glass staircase is difficult to see to walk on. Some hallways have issues with moldy smells - so I am guessing there are a few water leaks somewhere.

Pros: Great waiters, cooks and steward. Great shore excursions.

Cons: Medical care when my daughter fell on the wet pool deck. They cancelled our ports in Belize and Costa Maya.

Recommends Carnival Legend? Yes!

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
Menu options, cooks and waiters were great. We were surprised to learn Carnival doesn't pay their poor waiters and stewards any wages or salary... the only money they get are the gratuities we pay.
Cabin / Stateroom
Our steward was amazing. Ketut kept our room and bathroom clean and neat, replenished towels, and folded the cutest towel critters each night when he turned down the beds for us. We'll never book a room beneath the dining area again - the first night we couldn't sleep with noise as loud as thunder and lightning over our heads as the staff cleaned, rolled carts, dropped dishes, etc.
