Our party of 4 with separate staterooms were not informed of change in rules from catalogue effective April 2011, although we sailed in January. Our wine was actually confiscated upon embarkation! We were made to feel like teenagers who had "smuggled" booze onbloard. A piece of luggage was also held back in security (unnecessarily) that entailed a long line-up amongst many other disgruntled passengers; we missed the sailaway and off to a very poor start. There were a number of other issues addressed through written correspondence while on board to Cruise Director Josh Waitzman, which was very poorly handled by one of his staff. Extensive detailed follow-up correspondence to President Cahill, handled by Guest Services was little better than "Dear John form letters". The other members of our party did not even receive the courtesy of a response until very recently after we suggested this was most inappropriate.By way of information, we were definitely NOT asking or expecting anything except having our concerns and complaints being properly addressed. Our Toronto Travel Editors and a few other sources such as Frommers are always interested in such experiences and we intend to inform them of our "first and last" Carnival experience!
