Room Type: Balcony

Because this was our first cruise, we wanted it to "legendary." And it was! Embarkation from the port of Tampa was quick and painless. We boarded the ship and entered another world of glitz and sparkle. Yes, the decor is a little over-the-top, but that is part of her charm.

The Legend is well designed and even first-timers like us didn't didn't get lost. The restaurants, shopping venue, spa, gym,, lounges, library, theater and casino are easy to find. You can easily get from one area of the ship to another and conveniently- located elevators means a quick run to your cabin is doable.

Our balcony cabin provided the perfect perch from which to watch the brillirant sunsets and moonlight glistening on the water. It also gave us a first hand look at each port of call. Our room steward tended to our every need and delighted us with towel animals and turn down service at the end of each day.

This exotic Western Itinerary takes you to 4 varied and beautiful locales. At each, you can enjoy white-sand beaches, crystal blue water, and exciting excursions. And did I mention the shopping? Such fun!

The food in the MDR and Lido buffet was excellent. (Lobster and grilled shrimp and prime rib are elegant night favorites.) The grill offers made to order sandwiches and pizza. Hot dogs and hamburgers are available at the main Lido pool area. The sushi bar is located near Satchmos lounge. And, of course, you can pamper yourself with morning room service or call for an afternoon snack. There is never a reason to be hungry when you are aboard The Legend.

If you want to burn off a few of those extra calories, you can workout in the state-of-the-art gym or take a fitness class. For those wanting a little extra pampering, the spa offers a wide variety of services. Bad hair day? No worries! The beauty salon is open daily.

The shows were terriffic. Don't miss the Vegas style shows in the Follies Theater on both formal nights. The comedians are great and you can choose the PG or R rated version. There are the typical activities: bingo, the newlyweds game, karoke, the hairy chest contest. The great thing about a cruise is that it can be as jam-packed or as laid back as you would like it to be.

Disembarkation was easy and well organized.
Overall, we had a great time.and highly recommend the Lady Legend. I have my eye on next spring, when The Legend does an Eastern itenerary.

Pros: The friendly, personalized service

Cons: nothing!
