This cruise was our first but after reading eveyone's reviews we kind of knew what to expect. However, we didn't think we would have been treated so well. We originally booked an interior room and later found out that the prices had dropped so when we called to ask for a reimbursement they automatically upgraded us from an interior to a balcony room with a partially obstructed view. The partial obstruction was a lifeboat that you could see underneath us, but in all honesty, the obstruction was no obstruction to us at all. We still enjoyed a view of the ocean, as well as each of the ports. A balcony is definately the way to go! From now on, we will only book a balcony room, obstruction or not because it was a great luxury being able to get some fresh air in the privacy of our stateroom. I know a lot of people say you are only in your room to sleep and shower but we were in our stateroom a lot more than we expected. It's nice to have the opportunity for an afternoon nap and such. The ship itself was stunning. Very beautiful and laid out nicely. The food was outstanding. We tried everything, the 24 hour pizzeria, the lido grill, the buffet, the dining room and the sandwich counter. It was all delicious. My boyfriend enjoyed the Lido food better but I liked the food in the dining room better. Our waiter, Clive, was outstanding. He addressed us by name every night and even got my very shy and reserved boyfriend to do the Macarena and YMCA after dinner! He was a highlight in our trip. Our room steward was average, though our room was clean and there were always fresh towels and cute towel animals every night. Our favorite bartender was Akvile, she was in the main lobby. She recommended our new favorite drink, BBC. Ask her to make it and you will be hooked. We only did two excursions, one in Grand Cayman and one in Honduras. The tour we took in Grand Cayman was called the "stingray, hell and turtle farm experience." Well worth the $75 PP. Do the stingrays even if you're scared, you won't regret it. Take an underwater camera with you and try and take alot of pictures on your own as the ones they sell are pricey. The other excursion we did was the "Tabyana Beach Day". It's around $35 PP and is WELL WORTH IT. We had a BLAST and the beach is like paradise. There is a bar, restaurant, gift shop and restrooms and you can rent snokel gear for $10 for the whole day. You can also rent kayaks for $15 an hour. We took the most pictures in Honduras, it's absolutely breathtaking. We were going to go through cave-tubing.com as many people have recommended for Belize but when we met up with the guys from the company and got in their van, we got a weird feeling in the pit of our stomach. We had stopped at a gas station and just the whole vibe wasn't quite right. So we didn't end up doing it, though we did meet someone later on the ship that went through the company and had a blast, so maybe it just all depends on what kind of driver you get. A lot of people booked though Carnival and I heard a lot of good things about the Carnival Cave tubing. If you don't book an excursion in Belize, there is not much to do. We did a little shopping for about an hour and after that we took advantage of the almost empty pool. Cozumel we did some shopping. We took a walk through the touristy part and as we were departing the ship we heard an employee recommend Pancho's Backyard. He had told us it was 10 times better than Senor Frog's and well worth the 4 block walk. He told us they had the best Margaritas. They keep you going all day!! The entertainment was great and our cruise director, Jen, was so energetic! We can't wait for our next cruise!!!

This was our FAVORITE FAVORITE stop!! We were a little concerned the Tabyana Beach day was a little on the expensive side for just a beach ($36 PP) but we booked it anyway and it was worth every penny!!! This is true paradise!! there was a very scenic ride there and our bus driver let us stop for a minute and take pictures. There was a bar and buffet, a caribbean band, restrooms, and giftshop. BEST STOP EVER!!! We had an AMAZING time and want to do this ship again, just for this place. It is absolutely breathtaking. The island itself is breathtaking but make sure you go to Tabyana Beach. It is truly Heaven on Earth!!!
Don't Miss: Tabyana Beach Day

We did the Stingray, Hell and Turtle Farm experience, which was $75 PP. Well worth the money. Bring a waterproof camera with you and have other couples take pictures because they charge a lot of money just for one. Even if you're scared or nervous, do the Stingray tour anyway. I was a little scared but I did it and now I am extremely glad I have those memories. Also, you have to sample the rums and rumcake (included in this tour as well). Delicious!!
Don't Miss: Stingray, Hell and Turtle Farm experience, and the shopping.

We did our shopping and drinking at this port and we went to Pancho's backyard instead of Senor Frogs where everyone else goes. Best decision ever. I had one margarita and I was good for the ENTIRE day. The waiter called it a "happy all day long" and boy were we! We also bought a Mexican blanket for $5 at one of the stores so don't be afraid to haggle. Also, we went to Margaritaville and had a few more margaritas, and took advantage of the water trampoline. I had to snag a menu on the way out on the sly because they told me they would charge me $10 for it but if you're slick about it, just take one on the way out. Be prepared to be stopped almost every foot you walk by locals. Just be polite and they'll be nice back.
Don't Miss: Pancho's Backyard and Margaritaville.

We were going to do the cave tubing with Cave-tubing.com but when we met up with and guy and got in his van we got a really weird feeling in the pit of our stomach. Just the whole vibe was off and weird. So we made up an excuse to go back and just did a little shopping. I was bummed because I had wanted to do the cave tubing really bad but it just didn't feel right. However, late on in the day, we met up with a lady and she said she had a blast and went though the same company. It all depends on the situation I guess. But we did see A LOT of people do the cave tubing through Carnival and they had a blast. This was our least favorite port, and since we didn't book anything we were bored out of our mind. After an hour, we went back to the ship and took advantage of the almost empty pool and bar.
Don't Miss: Relaxing by the pool on the ship, you won't miss anything.

Pros: We felt like royalty in every aspect of the cruise, we didn't want to leave!

Cons: The price of the professional photos were a bit much, and our stop to Belize was very disorganized, but those were the only negatives.

Recommends Carnival Legend? Yes!
