Review SummaryWe had read other reviews and were a bit concerned about the food, service and shows. We had a great time! Both my wife an I were overdue for a relaxing vacation and this cruise exceeded our expectations. Having a room with a balcony was perfect, with great views and lighting for reading any time of the day or night. The service was exceptional both in the dining room and at all other locations including the buffet/casual dining as well as in the lounges. We were seated at a table with two other couples and we really had a good time conversing at dinner and occasionally at other times. The sushi bar was a nice touch and we sampled the sushi most every night. The shows were good, not great and the seating was easy. The music on board was above average and we enjoyed the bands. We had a concern about having a late dinner seating and as it turned out the late seating is the way to go! This gave us the afternoon to relax, go to the pool, or do whatever we wanted to do without any rush at all.
The ports were mostly decent and we enjoyed our beach time. The tour prices were on the high side and those more ambitious could do better by booking without the cruise line. We were satisfied to book the way we did. The highlight of our onshore tours was in Belize where we climbed the Mayan runis. It was a full day but well worth it. We had no problems getting on or off the ship for tours or at the beginning or end. We had a late flight back to Los Angeles and once off the ship we walked across the street and went to the Aquarium (book on your own) and had a very nice time there. For lunch we stayed down at the Tampa pier and listened to great music while having lunch and one last cocktail. It was like having an extra day away and I recommend it highly. Overall this was just what we needed and we had the right amount of fun and relaxation all built into one trip.
Pros: Having a room with a balcony, the music, the ease of getting around on the ship
Cons: Everything was at least acceptable
