Review summary

Loved the ship, most of the food, the shows and ambiance of this experience. I don’t sweat the little things that are too small in comparison to the big picture which is having a pleasurable time for a week away.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The Galveston cruise Port has been an easy transition from the line to process to ship. I have yet to have a strung out embarkation from this port even though it’s an extremely busy time for a Saturday board. I am waiting for that congested day to happen but till then, this embarkation moved nicely.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
While Lido food continues to be hit and miss, I in turn will continue to frequent Guys of course, breakfast from Blue Iguana because I had the best Huevos Rancneros for the first time and that is definitely a go to when I’m not at sea day brunch. I had a veggie omelette with the potatoes on the side from sea brunch, again a first and I will have that again as well. Shaq’s chicken was great this time around. So great that I think I had that for times than I had guys this cruise. The barbecue pizza was pretty good and I should have Reid the Teriyaki pie but was skeptical for the six dollars it offered.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I gave five stars even though I did not participate in any this cruise. I watched the trivia games I also was in attendance for Karaoke. The singing is always a hit for better and worse of the participants. I applaud all the effort!!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
For love and marriage was very fun to watch. Family Feud was pretty good also and I would not mind trying either one myself, next time around. I went to a show called soul bound. When I saw the commercial for this show on the cabin tv and on the wall heading from 16 to 12, the music did not fit the costumes or the decor for it at all. I was thrown and did not enjoy it liked I hoped. The singing and dancing were enjoyable and add the scene changes, this show wasn’t bad and I’m not a show person at all.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
My cabin was 12447 and room steward was Micheal. He made everything easy and comfortable for my wife and I. Roger and his team were my main dining staff. Never had to ask or want for anything before they were there to take care of it. Luis and Leslie from table 707 were also helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. All of the staff knew and remembered our names throughout the cruise. It’s not a big deal as the first cruise we took but it was nice all the same. Shanique was a team server in the marketplace. She greeted my wife and I every time with a smile and a little conversation. Both her and my wife laughed with me and at me like I was the school nerd and they were the cheerleaders. (Sorry, flashback) lol. They were very professional and I appreciated all of them.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This ship has been in the water since 2021, I believe and she still has her newness. No fading colors or rusted parts just yet. Of course it’s not like the inaugural sailing, which we will do one day but out of the previous cruises everything still looked new. The layout was just as the Mardi Gras with a few differences. I did not have any issues getting around after the first and second time getting turned around. The staff kept the areas of the ship clean from what I saw when in passing. I rarely saw a mess and when I did it was being attended too.

Ship tip

The elevators are slow, small and without air and they fill up fast. If you can manage the stairs, give them a try before the elevator. If it’s not for than a few flights in between I think you’ll survive the exercise. The lido or marketplace was a tad warm to me as well(to me). Everything else about this ship was nice. The decor the venues the staff, all made the cruise a nice added bonus.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
Ported out of Galveston and the process was very painless. This is my home port and I’ve embarked from a a few cities and this port seems to be the quickest when getting through and onto the ship. As we cruise more and this was our eighth, I’m sure my thoughts will change.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Did not get off the ship for this port. Been here a few times and when the itinerary calls for it, we will get off next time and enjoy Mr, Sanchos. That place is a fan fave.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
The first time my wife and I were here, we did not wear or bring our swimsuits and missed out on the pool. We did a couple of shops and walked past the flamingos and parrots. Even saw the dolphins but this time we were prepared. No beach just pool, drinks and good music. I have to also say that the water fall coming from the top of the hut into the water was kind of therapeutic on my neck and back. Got a great Bengals hat from a shop and will have a picture up. If you are looking for a quick place that doesn’t require hiking or getting a ride to a beach, this is a great place to be. Food, drinks, shopping and music and Flamingos. What more could you want on a hot day?

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
We enjoyed this port. The shops were ok, got a few things on the way back from living the beach. I love the water and with that being said, the water at the beach was just great. Clear and not too cold, just right. We were out there till about an hour till boarding time. Would take this itinerary again

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
This disembarkation was the fastest yet. Normally it will take a chunk of time to get to the stations to get checked but we breezed through this time. The longest time was spent debarking the ship to the stations. Walking in that line knowing my cruise was over was a painful trek.

Traveler Photos

Entrance to Mahogany Bay Being free, walking around in their inclosure. Door to the canin Sea day voyage burger with a fried egg, done egg, not runny but done, fried, lol. On the balcony in my hat.
