Not a party boat, but not really family friendly either.

We have several children 12 and under, picked this cruise because it was cheap and wanted to try a cruise with the kids. Wish we had just paid more. Carnival is fine but it doesn't have the entertainment and conveniences that other cruise lines have. Kids club isn't even convenient and they don't do all the fun stuff they advertise, and kids don't really want to go there unless there's a craft. Plus they close the kids club to get ready for dinner which is a pain because the only fun time at the kids club is during the late afternoon crafts so the kids want to do that part, and want to go to the kids dinner so they don't have to go to the dinning room but the closed time doesn't make sense. They need to just hire one more staff member and keep it open. Also for under 2 they say there's babysitting but it's such random short hours when they allow it so it's pretty much useless. The room service isn't good food, basically sandwiches. All in all with kids I would spend a little more and have more entertainment and better food at all hours. Princess cruises was much better.

Fun for a cheap quick get away. But not an amazing vacation. More for relaxing not entertainment or convenience.
